Beezcrank

First time I saw Beezcrank in the loading screen I thought someone was trolling my ranked lobby. A giant robot bee. Thats what Riot decided Blitzcrank needed. Played it for about 40 games now and honestly? The skin grew on me faster than I expected. The whole Bees! skinline is one of those concepts that sounds ridiculous on paper but works because Riot commits to the bit fully.

What actually changes with Beezcrank

So Beezcrank turns Blitzcrank into a chunky honeybee mech. Yellow and black striped body, translucent wings on the back, antennae poking out the top. Cute stuff. The model is clean and reads well on the Rift even during chaotic teamfights where you need to track the hook threat.

The Q is the big one here. Rocket Grab shoots out a honey-dripping fist that leaves this golden trail. Been running this in Diamond support games and the grab animation feels identical to base, which matters. Some Blitzcrank skins have grabs that feel slightly different in terms of visual timing and it messes with your muscle memory. Not Beezcrank. Hook looks great, plays the same. No complaints.

W gives Blitzcrank a buzzing speed boost with little bee particles trailing behind. Kinda feels like you’re watching a bumblebee chase down the enemy ADC. E uppercut has honey splatter on impact, satisfying visual pop when you proc the knockup after landing a grab. The R static field explosion sends out hexagonal honeycomb patterns in all directions. Not gonna lie, the ult VFX is probably my favorite part of the whole skin.

Recall animation is where the personality lives. Blitzcrank does this little bee dance, waggling back and forth. Reference to actual bee communication if you know your biology. Neat detail. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is expected at this price point. Standard for an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP.

The Bees! line and release context

Beezcrank dropped November 22, 2023. Late season 13. The Bees! skinline had already built up a following with skins like Beezahar, Bee’Maw, and Yuubee. Riot clearly saw the demand and kept expanding the roster. Blitzcrank fits the theme naturally because his round body shape translates perfectly into a bee silhouette.

Augusto Quirino and West Studio handled the artwork on the splash. They captured the vibe perfectly, Beezcrank hovering over a flower field with that goofy determined expression. (Random aside: this splash actually works surprisingly well as a Discord avatar, been using it since December.) The composition is simple but the color palette pops hard.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is the standout for me, turns the whole bee into a dark wasp look that reads way more threatening in lane. Pearl gives you a white and pastel vibe, almost albino bee energy. Rainbow chroma is the fun pick, shifts the color scheme into something festive. Could be wrong here but I think Emerald might be the least popular one, the green clashes with the bee concept a bit. The rest fill out the collection but those three are the ones worth caring about.

How Beezcrank plays in ranked

Spammed this in Diamond for about two weeks straight last December. The skin doesnt change gameplay obviously but there’s a psychological element to running a goofy skin in ranked. People underestimate the Blitzcrank. Grabbed their Jinx under tower at dragon around 1 AM one night and she literally typed “killed by a bee” in all chat. Worth.

Visibility is fine. The hook particles are distinct enough that enemies can react, so no competitive advantage or disadvantage. Some skins in the game have particle clarity issues but Beezcrank is squeaky clean on that front. The yellow color scheme contrasts well against most map terrain. Been daily driving this over Space Groove Blitz & Crank which says something because that skin is also solid.

For engage support players who like to roam and look for picks, the skin feels right. Light enough visually that it doesnt distract you, distinctive enough that your team knows exactly where the hook threat is in a teamfight. Good peel skin too when you’re playing the backline protector role in late-game comps.

Should you buy Beezcrank?

Real verdict: 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New model, new VFX on every ability, new recall, 8 chromas if you want variety. Shop has it, permanent availability, no vault nonsense. For Blitzcrank mains this is an easy pickup. Might be overthinking it but I’d rank this top 3 Blitzcrank skins alongside Lancer Paragon and iBlitzcrank.

Skip it if you dont play Blitzcrank regularly. Not the type of skin that makes you want to pick up the champion. But if you already main the big guy and you like the Bees! aesthetic, this is the Blitzcrank skin if you can only own one from that line. The VFX package carries it hard and the chromas add genuine replay value. Played maybe 200 games with various Blitzcrank skins this season and Beezcrank stays in the rotation consistently.
