King Beegar Veigar - Splash, Price & Chromas

First game I loaded into with King Beegar, my support pinged the laugh emote six times before minions spawned. Thats the energy this skin carries. Veigar dressed as a royal bee, tiny crown, fuzzy stripes, the whole package. Been running this in Diamond mid and honestly it makes the little yordle feel even more menacing. Something about stacking AP while looking like a cartoon insect king hits different.

What King Beegar actually changes on the Rift

The VFX overhaul is where this Epic earns its keep. Veigar’s Q shoots out honeycomb-shaped bolts, bright gold with that sticky amber glow. Clean read in lane, easy to track your cs with. W drops a hexagonal honey grid on the ground before the meteor comes down, and the impact splashes this golden nectar effect that looks way better than it has any right to.

E is the highlight for me. The cage walls buzz with little animated bees flying around the perimeter. Trapped their Jinx in dragon pit last Thursday around 11 PM and my duo said it looked like a wasp nest closing in. Not sure if it’s just me but the cage feels psychologically scarier with the bee theme. Like you know you’re about to get stung.

R, the ult, launches this massive golden stinger projectile. Huge visual pop. When you’re sitting on 600+ stacks late-game and you drop that execute on the enemy ADC, the kill feels earned and looks clean. The recall animation has Veigar sitting on a throne while tiny bee subjects bow to him. Peak comedy for a champion that’s basically a rage-fueled yordle with a Napoleon complex.

Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Standard for a 1350 RP Epic. Doesnt bother me much since Veigar’s base voice is already iconic. The “I will swat you like the insect you are” line hits different when you’re literally a bug yourself (sidebar: the irony is probably intentional and I respect Riot for it).

The Bees! line and where King Beegar fits

Released November 22, 2023. Late season 13. The Bees! skinline is one of Riot’s goofier thematic sets, sitting alongside Beezahar, Beezcrank, Bee-Maw, and the rest of the hive. Exia Xiaotong and West Studio handled the splash, they captured the royal vibe perfectly. Veigar on his honey throne with that smug energy.

The Bees! line works because it commits to the bit. No halfway measures. King Beegar takes it further than most by giving Veigar the monarch angle. Makes sense for a champion whose whole identity is “tiny guy with massive power complex.” Kinda feels like this skin was designed specifically for Veigar one-tricks who spam laugh in lane.

8 chromas total. Obsidian turns the whole thing into a dark wasp aesthetic, probably my favorite for ranked because it reads more serious against the Rift’s color palette. Amethyst shifts the honey gold into purple which hits the dark mage fantasy harder than base. Pearl goes light and clean but I think it loses some of the charm. Shop has it, permanent availability, grab whichever chromas match your mood.

Is King Beegar worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: this is a strong Epic. Maybe not the absolute best Veigar skin since Final Boss exists at Legendary tier, but King Beegar competes hard for second place. The VFX are genuinely good, the theme commits fully, and the recall is S-tier comedy. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get.

Been maining Veigar with this skin since it dropped and played maybe 80 games with it across season 13 and 14. The novelty wasnt wearing off even after weeks. Could be wrong here but I think for mid lane Veigar mains who want something lighter than the edgy skins, this is the pick. Elderwood is solid but too serious. Astronaut is fun but King Beegar edges it out on VFX quality.

Skip it if you already own Final Boss and only play Veigar occasionally. But if you’re a Veigar main climbing through ranked, spamming games in the bot lane or mid, this one belongs in rotation. Worth 1350 if you main Veigar. The bee cage alone sells it.
