LoL Dodge Timer: Penalties, LP Loss and Cooldown Tracker

This dodge timer shows the exact penalty for each dodge tier in League of Legends: LP lost, queue lockout duration, and how long until the penalty resets. Press “I just dodged” to start a live countdown so you know when you can queue again.

LoL Dodge Timer

Check dodge penalties and track your cooldown timer. Penalties reset 24 hours after your last dodge.

How many times you have dodged in the last 24 hours.

1st-3 LP6 minutesLight penalty, one free dodge per day is common

Dodge penalties do not affect your MMR — only LP and queue time. Normals and ARAM have the same time penalties but no LP loss. The 24-hour reset window starts from your most recent dodge, not midnight.

How do LoL dodge penalties work?

Every time you dodge a champion select in ranked, the penalty gets heavier. The first dodge costs 3 LP and a 6-minute lockout. The second costs 10 LP and 30 minutes. The third and every dodge after that costs 10 LP and locks you out for 12 hours. After 24 hours without dodging, the tier resets back to zero.

The key detail: the 24-hour window starts from your most recent dodge, not from midnight or from the first dodge of the day. If you dodge at 3 PM and again at 4 PM, the timer resets at 4 PM the next day, not 3 PM.

Does dodging affect your MMR?

No. Dodging costs LP and time, but your hidden matchmaking rating does not change. This is why one dodge per day is widely considered a good trade: losing 3 LP is better than losing 15 to 20 LP from a game with a bad draft, a tilted teammate, or a one-trick who got banned out. Your MMR stays the same, and your LP recovers in one or two wins.

When should you dodge?

Most high-elo players dodge when the draft is clearly lost, when a teammate is already arguing in champion select, or when someone is autofilled into a role they cannot play. The math is simple: if the dodge saves you more LP than it costs, it is worth it. A first dodge costs 3 LP; a loss costs roughly 18 to 22 LP plus 25 to 35 minutes of time.

The exception is your third dodge: 12 hours is a hard stop, and no single lobby is worth losing half a day of play. If you have already dodged twice, play it out or take a break.

FAQ

Does dodging count as a loss on your record?

No. Dodges do not appear in your match history, do not affect your win rate, and do not count toward demotion protection games.

Do dodge penalties apply in normals and ARAM?

The queue lockout applies (6 min, 30 min, 12 hours), but there is no LP loss because normals and ARAM do not use LP.

Can I dodge in promos?

Riot removed promotion series between tiers, so there are no more promos to dodge out of in the current ranked system.

Does the 24-hour reset apply per queue or globally?

Globally. Dodging in Solo/Duo and then dodging in Flex both count toward the same tier escalation. The timer resets 24 hours after your last dodge across all ranked queues.
