TFT MMR Checker: Estimate Your Hidden Rating from LP
Updated November 5, 2026
Punch in your TFT rank and the average LP you win and lose per game, and this checker estimates where your hidden MMR sits. Riot does not display MMR in Teamfight Tactics, and no external site can read it from your account, so the method is the same one the LoL checker uses: the gap between your LP-per-win and LP-per-loss tells you whether the ladder is pulling you up or holding you back. The tool runs the math client-side in your browser; nothing is sent to any server.
How the TFT MMR checker works
MMR is the matchmaker’s view of how strong you are. Rank is the public badge next to your name. The two drift apart whenever you climb on a hot streak or sink on a cold one. When MMR sits higher than rank, LP per top-4 pays more than LP per bottom-4 takes away, and the LP ratio climbs above 1. When rank sits higher than MMR, the ratio drops below 1 and the climb stalls.
This scale drives the result:
| Top-4 LP divided by bottom-4 LP | MMR compared with your rank |
|---|---|
| 1.8 or more | About 4 divisions above |
| 1.5 to 1.79 | About 3 divisions above |
| 1.3 to 1.49 | About 2 divisions above |
| 1.15 to 1.29 | About 1 division above |
| 0.95 to 1.14 | Level with your rank |
| 0.8 to 0.94 | About 1 division below |
| 0.65 to 0.79 | About 2 divisions below |
| Under 0.65 | About 3 divisions below |
Top-4 rate then nudges the result: 60% or more adds a division, 55% or more adds half a division, 45% or less takes half away, and 40% or less drops a full division. Rounding is to the nearest division. Games played sets the confidence band: under 20 games is low, 20 to 49 is medium, and 50 or more is high enough for the number to settle.
Why the formula uses top-4 instead of wins
Teamfight Tactics does not have a classic win/loss outcome for every game. Finishing top-4 pays LP; finishing bottom-4 costs LP. The scale of the gain and the loss is what the matchmaker shifts when it thinks it is matching you with the wrong opponents. That is the whole signal: watch the gap, not the outcome in isolation.
Double Up ranked uses the same LP structure, so you can use this checker for either queue. Pick the queue whose rank you want to analyse and enter the LP numbers from that queue.
Common patterns in the output
- LP ratio 1.6 and you are Gold. MMR is roughly three divisions above, so the matchmaker expects you to climb. Keep queuing; the ratio compresses as you reach where MMR thinks you belong.
- LP ratio near 1.0 and climb has stalled. MMR is level with your rank; you will move only as fast as win rate carries you.
- LP ratio under 0.8. Rank sits above MMR. Each top-4 pays less than a bottom-4 costs, which is the classic “stuck above where you should be” feeling. Working on fundamentals is more productive than grinding games here.
What the checker does not do
No account lookup. No connection to Riot API. The tool reads only the inputs you type into the form; nothing leaves your browser. It also will not tell you the exact numeric MMR (Riot does not share that), only a rank-level estimate in divisions.
For the LoL version, see LoL MMR Checker. For context on the wider ranked ladder, see League of Legends Ranks. For a climb projection based on your current trajectory, our LoL Climb Calculator uses the same inputs.
FAQ
Does Riot show my TFT MMR anywhere?
No. Riot has never exposed MMR directly. The number is used for matchmaking and to scale LP gains and losses; the public face is your tier and division only.
Why does the checker ask for LP per top-4, not per win?
TFT ranks eight players per lobby. Positions 1–4 gain LP; positions 5–8 lose LP. “Win” is not the right frame; the question is whether you finish in the paying half or the losing half.
How many games before the estimate stabilises?
Below 20 games the variance in your LP numbers is too wide. Between 20 and 49 the signal is readable but still shifts. From 50 ranked games on, the estimate tracks closely.
Does this work for Double Up?
Yes. Double Up uses the same ranked tiers and LP structure. Enter the LP numbers from your Double Up games if that is the queue you want to analyse.
Why does my estimate move when my rank changes?
MMR shifts only with LP outcomes. Rank shifts when LP crosses 0 or 100. If you just promoted, the LP numbers from the previous division influence the running average; give it five to ten games at the new tier before trusting a fresh estimate.
Can MMR drop below the bottom of the ladder?
Iron IV is the floor for the public rank. MMR tracks below that in the matchmaker’s internal view, which is why someone demoted to Iron IV can still face noticeably weaker lobbies for a while — the hidden rating sits lower than the badge.
