Nunu & Beelump

First game I played with Nunu & Beelump I genuinely laughed out loud in champ select. Not gonna lie, I wasnt expecting much from a bee-themed Nunu & Willump skin but the second Willump showed up as a giant fuzzy bumblebee I knew Riot understood the assignment. This is peak silly League content and it owns that energy completely.

What the Bees! line does to Nunu & Willump

Willump is a massive bee. Full stop. Yellow and black striped fur, translucent wings on his back, antenna bobbing around as he waddles through the jungle. Nunu sits on top wearing a little beekeeper outfit with a hat and everything. The whole visual reads so clean against the Rift, you spot this thing from across the map during a teamfight.

The new VFX carry this Epic hard. Q consume has Willump chomping down with honey particles flying out. W snowball is now a rolling ball of honey and bees, which honestly might be the best part of the entire skin. Watching that thing barrel down mid lane at full speed trailing little bee particles is comedy gold. Been running this in Diamond jungle games for months and the snowball never gets old.

E has these honeycomb-shaped ice shards replaced with hexagonal bee patterns. Could be wrong here but I think the root effect also has a slight honey-gold tint instead of the usual blue frost. R is where it gets good though. The channel zone fills with swarming bees and when it detonates theres this burst of golden honey VFX everywhere. Used it in a dragon pit fight last Thursday and the visual clutter actually made their ADC panic flash early.

New recall animation too. Nunu and Willump do this little honey-eating dance together. Cute stuff. Voice lines stay base though, no new VO. Standard for a 1350 RP Epic tier skin.

The Bees! skinline and release context

Nunu & Beelump dropped March 3, 2022. Season 12. Horace ‘Hozure’ Hsu nailed the splash, that artist consistently delivers on the whimsical skins. The splash captures the whole vibe perfectly: Nunu riding Beelump through a field of flowers with bees everywhere.

The Bees! skinline is one of Riot’s more niche comedy lines. Started with Beemo and just kept expanding. Yuubee, Bee’Maw, BZZZiggs, Beezcrank. Nunu & Beelump fits right in. Kinda feels like this line exists purely because someone at Riot thought “what if bee” and nobody stopped them. Respect.

8 chromas total for this one. Obsidian turns the whole bee dark and moody which is hilarious on a comedy skin. Rose Quartz gives it this soft pink bumble aesthetic that I actually prefer over base. Rainbow is the wild card, turns Beelump into this tie-dye pride bee situation. (Random aside: my duo partner uses the Rainbow chroma exclusively and calls it “the therapy bee” in comms.) The rest are fine but those three stand out.

Jungle clear feel and gameplay impressions

Took this into ranked for maybe 40 games across two patches. The gameplay feel is genuinely good for an Epic. Nunu & Willump’s kit is already goofy and the bee theme amplifies that energy. Your ganks feel less threatening visually which I think actually helps. People underestimate the giant bee rolling at them. Had a game around 2 AM last week where their Katarina straight up didnt flash my W because, quote, “I thought it was a ward or something.” Diamond elo by the way.

Jungle clear VFX read cleanly too. No issues distinguishing ability boundaries which matters for Q timing on camps. Some skins mess with visual clarity but the Bees! aesthetic stays readable even in chaotic fights. The golden honey particles contrast well against most map terrain.

Only complaint: the base skin’s blizzard fantasy on R feels more impactful than swarming bees. Might be overthinking it but theres something about a massive ice storm that reads “danger” better than a bee swarm. Minor thing. Still lock it in every game on Nunu & Willump.

Should you buy it?

Real verdict: if you play Nunu & Willump at all, this is the skin. Space Groove is flashier and Papercraft is creative, but Nunu & Beelump has this charm factor that none of the others match. The Bees! line just works with this champion’s personality.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX across the full kit, solid recall, great chromas if you want variety. Not gonna blow your mind with Legendary-tier features obviously but for the price bracket its one of the better comedy skins in the game. Top pick for Nunu & Willump mains, especially if you dont take your jungle games too seriously. (Sidebar for Nunu one-tricks specifically: you already know this is the one.)

Skip it only if you genuinely hate fun. Otherwise, S-tier Nunu & Willump cosmetic. Been daily driving Nunu & Beelump since season 12 and I keep coming back to it over everything else in the collection.
