Not gonna lie, first time I saw Demolisher Nunu & Willump load in during a ranked game I thought someone was running a custom skin. The whole vibe is so different from base Nunu & Willump that it caught me off guard. Willump looks like he crawled out of some medieval siege engine fantasy, all armored up and ready to flatten turrets. Been running this in Diamond for maybe 40 games last month and the reactions in lobby chat are always funny. People dont expect it.

What Demolisher Nunu & Willump actually changes

So the big deal here is the model rework on Willump. He’s got this heavy plated armor look, bolted together like something out of a blacksmith’s fever dream. Nunu sits on top looking like a tiny warlord commanding a living battering ram. The color palette shifts to darker metallics with rust-orange accents that pop against the Rift’s greens.

VFX got touched up which is solid for a 975 RP Standard skin. The Q chomp has a slightly different particle read, and the W snowball picks up some gritty texture that fits the demolisher theme. Could be wrong here but I think the E snowball toss reads a bit heavier too. Voice lines stay base, no VO refresh, which is expected at this price point.

Real talk though: in teamfights the armor plating on Willump makes the model read bigger than it actually is. Played against a Katarina one-trick last Tuesday who kept trying to ult away from me thinking I had more hitbox than I did. Psychological warfare. The recall is default, nothing special there, but the in-game presence during ganking and jungle clear is where the skin earns its keep.

The Rift Quest line and release history

Demolisher Nunu & Willump dropped August 24, 2011. Season 1 era. Maki Planas Mata handled the artwork and they captured the fantasy well for that period of Riot’s art direction. The splash holds up okay for its age.

Part of the Rift Quest skinline, which is one of those older thematic sets that leaned into tabletop RPG vibes. Kinda feels like Riot was experimenting with medieval fantasy aesthetics before they figured out how to do it properly with stuff like the Ruination event years later. Rift Quest skins have that charm though. (Random aside: the Rift Quest skins collectively might be the most underrated skinline in the game.)

No chromas available for this one. Zero. What you see is what you get. Shop has it permanently at 975 RP so you can grab it whenever. No vault rotation nonsense to worry about.

Should you lock in Demolisher?

Straight talk: 975 RP feels fair for what you get. You’re paying Standard tier pricing for updated VFX and a complete model overhaul on both Nunu and Willump. For Nunu & Willump mains who grind jungle and want something that looks intimidating during a gank, this delivers. Been daily driving it over Space Groove some weeks just because the darker aesthetic reads better in late-game teamfights around baron pit.

If you’re climbing with Nunu & Willump this season and want a skin that stands out without dropping Legendary money, Demolisher is a strong pick. Not the flashiest Nunu & Willump skin in the catalog but it has character. The armored Willump fantasy is unique across all their skins. Might be overthinking it but I think this is one of those sleeper skins that ages well specifically because it commits fully to one theme instead of trying to do too much. Worth 975 RP if you main Nunu & Willump, easy.
