First time I saw Braum Lionheart load in on the enemy team I thought someone modded their client. Big guy holding a shield that looks ripped straight out of a tabletop RPG campaign. Played against it in a Diamond game back in season 6 and immediately went to the shop after. No regrets.
The fantasy RPG Braum you didnt know you needed
So this is a Standard tier skin at 750 RP, which means you’re not getting new particles or a fancy recall animation. Voice lines stay base. What you do get is a full model swap that turns Braum into a paladin-type character straight out of a D&D session. The shield becomes this ornate wooden door with metal reinforcements and a lion crest. Honestly not gonna lie, the shield alone carries the skin.
His armor shifts from the Freljord fur-and-ice look to something warmer. Leather, chainmail, a tabard with heraldic symbols. Kinda feels like Riot took Braum out of the frozen north and dropped him into a medieval fantasy tavern. The mustache stays glorious, obviously.
No new VFX on Q or his passive procs, which is expected at this price point. His ult still has the base Braum fissure effect. For 750 RP though, the model work is clean. Been running this in ranked when I get autofilled support and the character reads well in teamfights. You can still clearly see when he’s throwing up his E shield wall, which matters when you’re trying to peel for your ADC in a chaotic dragon pit fight.
Rift Quest and the December 2015 release
Braum Lionheart dropped December 7, 2015. Part of the Rift Quest skinline, which is basically Riot’s love letter to tabletop gaming. The line includes other champions dressed up as RPG archetypes. Braum fits the paladin or warrior tank role perfectly here.
No splash artist credited in the data, but whoever handled it captured that adventuring party energy. Braum standing tall with his shield, ready to tank a dragon or whatever the party stumbled into. (Random aside: I used this splash as my Discord avatar for like three months in season 7 and multiple people asked me what game it was from.)
Zero chromas available for this one. Not surprising given the 750 RP price point and the era it released in. Chromas weren’t really a thing Riot was pushing hard in late 2015. Shop has it permanently, so no vault anxiety. Just grab it whenever.
Worth locking in at 750 RP?
Real verdict: Braum Lionheart is one of those skins that punches above its weight class. 750 RP feels fair for what you get. The model is distinctive enough that you look different from base Braum, and the RPG theme gives the champion a personality shift that actually works.
Could be wrong here but I think this is the best budget Braum skin. If you’re climbing through ranked as a support main and you want something for Braum without dropping 1350 on an Epic, this is the pick. Played maybe 40 games with it last season, mostly in bot lane specifically, and it never got old. The lion shield just hits different when you’re blocking a Caitlyn ult for your carry.
Skip it if you already own Pool Party Braum or Sugar Rush, those have more going on with VFX. But if you’re a Braum main on a budget who likes the fantasy RPG vibe, Braum Lionheart earns its spot in your collection. Not the flashiest thing on the Rift but sometimes simple changes make the biggest impact. 750 RP well spent for mains, been saying that since season 9 I think or 10 dont remember.
