Victorious Braum

Been waiting for Braum to get the Victorious treatment for years and Riot finally delivered. Locked in my last few ranked games of the season specifically to make sure I didnt decay out of Diamond before the cutoff. Worth it. The Victorious line has always been hit or miss but Braum wearing that royal blue and gold armor just fits the character so well it’s hard to complain.

What the skin actually changes on Braum

This is a Standard tier skin so keep expectations in check. No new VFX on Q or the passive proc, no voice filter, base VO stays the same. What you get is a full model swap and Braum looks like he just walked out of some kind of divine championship ceremony. Gold-trimmed armor plates, a massive Victorious crest on his shield, and that signature blue-and-gold palette the Victorious line is known for.

The shield is the star here. Honestly not gonna lie, the detail on Braum’s shield in this skin reads cleaner than some of his Epic-tier options. The Victorious emblem catches light in a way that makes your E feel more impactful even though the particles are unchanged. Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animations look slightly smoother with the new model proportions, though thats probably just placebo from how clean the armor silhouette is.

Voice lines stay base. No new recall animation either. For a free ranked reward though? Nobody’s complaining. Played maybe 40 games of support Braum in Diamond last season and the skin held up fine visually. Not the flashiest thing on the Rift but it communicates “I earned this” which is kinda the whole point of the Victorious line.

The Victorious line and ranked chromas

Victorious skins go back to Victorious Jarvan IV in season one. The whole concept is simple: hit Gold or above, get the skin for free at end of season. No RP price, cant buy it in the shop. You either grinded ranked or you didn’t.

9 chromas total and they map directly to your ranked tier. (Random aside: the Diamond chroma being purple instead of the usual light blue threw me off the first time I equipped it.) The Challenger chroma is clean, deep royal blue that separates itself from the base skin nicely. Master chroma runs this magenta-purple that looks surprisingly good on Braum’s bulky frame. Most people I see in my games rock Gold or Platinum since, well, that’s where the playerbase lives.

The chromas are locked to whatever rank you finished the season at, so you cant just pick whichever you want. Peaked Grandmaster for like two weeks in season 12 I think, dropped back to Diamond, and only got the Diamond chroma for Victorious Sejuani that year. Same system applies here.

Should you care about Victorious Braum?

Real verdict: if you already play ranked and you main Braum or even just have him in your support pool, this is a no-brainer because it costs nothing. The skin itself sits comfortably mid-tier in Braum’s lineup. Not touching El Tigre Braum or Sugar Rush for pure fun factor, but it’s got that clean competitive energy that fits the champion’s peel-heavy playstyle.

For Braum one-tricks specifically this is a flex skin. You lock it in during champ select and your team knows you finished the season strong. Last Tuesday I had a Braum support on my team running the Challenger chroma and I immediately felt better about the lane. Might be overthinking it but the psychology of ranked chromas is real in solo queue.
