Celestine Soraka

Been maining Soraka on and off since season 3, and Celestine Soraka was the first skin I ever bought for her. Back then 975 RP felt like a lot for a support skin. Played maybe 150 games on it before rotating to other options, and I keep coming back. Not gonna lie, there’s something about the clean white and gold palette that just reads better in teamfights than base Soraka. Easier to track your positioning when your model actually stands out against the Rift.

What Celestine Soraka actually changes

So the big sell here is the VFX work. Your Q gets this soft celestial glow, pale blues and whites replacing the standard green. Feels subtle but its noticeable once you lane against someone running base skin Soraka. The W heal has a cleaner particle effect too, more angelic light than generic green sparkle. In a messy teamfight around dragon pit last week, I could actually see my heals landing clearly. Small thing. Huge difference for peel awareness.

Model-wise, Soraka gets a flowing white robe with gold trim, a proper celestial priestess look. The horn feels more ornamental here, less “weird goat lady” and more “divine healer.” Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack animation reads slightly smoother, though that might just be placebo from the lighter color scheme. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, and no unique recall animation either. Standard for a 975 RP skin from 2013.

The staff design is probably the standout model change. Gold and white, matches the robe, catches light well on Summoner’s Rift. In bot lane specifically, your ADC can actually spot you easier in the chaos. (Random aside: my duo partner says he tracks my position by the staff glow, which is both useful and kind of sad for a Diamond support main.)

Release and the Rift Quest connection

Celestine Soraka dropped March 5, 2013. Early season 3 era. Bo Lu nailed the splash, the composition captures that serene healer energy without being boring. The skin sits under the Rift Quest skinline, which is one of those older thematic groupings Riot used before they started doing massive coordinated releases.

975 RP price point. No chromas available for this one. Shop has it, permanent availability, so no vault anxiety. For a Standard tier skin with updated VFX, the pricing feels fair. Not every Soraka skin needs to be a full legendary production. Sometimes you just want clean visuals and a solid model update.

Should you pick up Celestine Soraka?

Real verdict: if you’re a Soraka main climbing through ranked and you want something that looks better than base without dropping 1350+ RP, Celestine is the answer. Star Guardian and Dawnbringer exist for the premium experience, sure. But Celestine has this understated elegance that the flashier skins dont match. Kinda feels like the “serious support player” pick versus the “I want everyone to notice my skin” pick.

Been running this in Diamond games all season 12 and 13. Never felt the need to switch during a win streak. The VFX clarity alone makes it worth 975 RP if you main Soraka. Skip it if you already own Dawnbringer or Reaper, those cover different vibes entirely. But for the price? Solid pick. Think of it as the workhorse Soraka skin, the one you lock in when you’re tryharding at 2 AM on a Tuesday and just want your Q to look clean while you poke the enemy Draven out of lane. 975 RP well spent for mains.
