First time I locked in Dawnbringer Soraka was December 2019, maybe a week after release. Played one game and immediately knew this was the Soraka skin. Not even close. The whole celestial divine warrior vibe just hits completely different from her base kit, and after grinding maybe 40 ranked games with it that first month I was convinced this was Riot’s best enchanter Legendary at the time. Still think that holds up honestly.

What Dawnbringer Soraka actually brings

This is a full Legendary at 1820 RP so you’re getting the complete package. New model, new VFX on every ability, new voice lines performed by Lisa Lindsley, new recall animation. The whole deal. Soraka transforms from a quiet healer into this radiant cosmic being and the skin sells it hard.

Her Q, Starcall, drops these golden light circles instead of the usual green. Cleaner visual read in teamfights, which matters when you’re trying to land poke in lane. Not gonna lie, the W heal feels more satisfying on this skin. Golden particles wrap around whoever you’re healing. Sounds dumb but it makes you want to actually play the peel support style instead of going full AP cheese.

E is where it gets interesting. Equinox drops this divine cage of light. The root confirmation is crisp, you can see exactly when someone steps in and gets caught. Been playing Soraka on and off since season 7 and the base E visual has always felt muddy to me, especially in chaotic dragon fights. Dawnbringer fixes that. Big deal for a support who needs to land E on diving assassins.

The R, Wish, is the showstopper though. Global heal with these massive golden wings spreading across the screen. Your whole team gets this burst of divine energy VFX on their character. Had a game last season around 2 AM where I ulted from base and saved our ADC in a 2v3 bot side. My duo said the visual made him think he got shielded by something else entirely. Thats how dramatic it looks.

Recall animation has Soraka ascending into this beam of light. Short, clean, fits the theme. Nothing over the top but it reads well.

The Nightbringer and Dawnbringer line

Jeremy ‘Jermu’ Anninos nailed the splash. Soraka floating in divine radiance, staff glowing, the whole composition screams “celestial judge” more than “banana lady.” The Nightbringer and Dawnbringer skinline is one of Riot’s stronger thematic sets. You’ve got the chaos vs order duality running through it. Soraka fits the Dawnbringer side perfectly because her whole kit is about preserving life and healing.

Released December 12, 2019. Late into season 9. The Nightbringer and Dawnbringer line had already proven itself with Riven and Yasuo before this, but the Soraka version pushed the theme into support territory. Kinda feels like Riot was testing whether enchanter mains would pay Legendary prices for their champions. Answer was yes.

(Random aside: the splash has been my desktop wallpaper at work for like two years and nobody has commented on it. Either my coworkers dont play League or they’re being polite.)

No chromas on this one. Zero. Which is fine for a Legendary honestly. The base gold and white color scheme is clean enough that chromas would probably muddy the divine aesthetic. Some Legendaries get chromas later but I dont think Dawnbringer Soraka needs them.

Voice lines and personality

Full new VO. This is where the 1820 RP really earns itself. Soraka sounds authoritative, almost stern. Less “gentle healer” and more “divine being who chose to help mortals.” Lisa Lindsley gave her this weight that base Soraka completely lacks. The interactions with Nightbringer champions are a nice touch. Small detail but it adds to the fantasy when you’re laning against a Nightbringer support or see one in your comp.

Some of the lines reference the cosmic war between order and chaos. Could be wrong here but I think the lore integration on this skin is tighter than most Legendary releases from that era. Riot was really investing in skinline narratives around 2019 and it shows.

Movement quotes dont get repetitive as fast as base Soraka either. Been running this skin exclusively in Diamond for multiple seasons and the VO still doesnt grate on me. That’s rare for any champion you spam 200+ games on.

Should you buy Dawnbringer Soraka?

Real verdict: if you play Soraka at all, this is the skin. Full stop. 1820 RP feels fair for what you get. New model, complete VFX overhaul, full voice pack, clean ability reads in teamfight situations. Still in the shop, no vault rotation to worry about.

The only competition is Star Guardian Soraka and maybe Spirit Blossom, but neither of those have new voice lines. For Soraka mains specifically, voice lines carry a skin because you hear them every single game. That alone justifies the Legendary price gap over an Epic.

Fair warning, if you’re used to the green particle colors on base Soraka, the golden VFX might throw off your muscle memory for a game or two. Adjust period is maybe three games. After that you wont want to go back. Played maybe 15 games on base Soraka since buying Dawnbringer and every time it felt wrong.

Worth 1820 RP if you main Soraka. Not even a question. The Soraka skin if you can only own one. Been my go-to Soraka skin since season 10 and I see no reason to switch. Top pick for Soraka mains who want their healer to actually feel powerful on the Rift.
