Dawnbringer Morgana

First time I saw Dawnbringer Morgana load in, I thought someone was playing a different champion entirely. The gold and white is so far from base Morgana’s vibe that it took me a second to register the Q flying at me. Played against it in a Diamond ranked game last September and immediately wanted it. Not gonna lie, the celestial angel look just works on a character who’s supposed to be the fallen sister.

What the skin actually changes

This is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, so you’re getting new VFX and a new recall animation. Voice lines stay default. The model swap is the real star here though. Morgana goes from dark purple fallen angel to radiant golden divine being. Wings are bright, armor is white and gold, and the whole silhouette reads cleaner on the Rift than most of her other skins.

Q binding comes out with this warm golden particle trail. Easier to track in teamfights compared to base, which I think actually helps your team react to your catches. Could be wrong here but I swear the hitbox feels different visually even though its the same. W tormented ground has this soft golden glow instead of the dark pool. Looks great in lane. Your E shield gets a celestial shimmer that pops nicely when you peel for your ADC.

The R is where Dawnbringer Morgana really earns the price. Soul Shackles gets golden chains with light particles and the full channel has this radiant burst on completion. Been running this skin in ranked for months and the ult VFX genuinely feel satisfying to land. Dove their backline last Tuesday around 1 AM, hit a five-man R, and the golden explosion was chef’s kiss. Clean visuals.

Recall animation has Morgana ascending with divine energy. Short, sweet, fits the theme. No new VO refresh, but Erica Lindbeck’s base voice work still holds up fine with the angelic aesthetic.

The Nightbringer and Dawnbringer skinline

Dawnbringer Morgana dropped September 23, 2021. Late season 11. Pan Chengwei handled the artwork and they absolutely cooked on that splash. The way the light radiates off her wings is portfolio-worthy stuff.

The Nightbringer and Dawnbringer line is one of Riot’s more ambitious thematic sets. Morgana fits naturally into the Dawnbringer side given her lore about justice and binding. Kinda feels like Riot designed the entire skinline waiting to eventually put Morgana in it. She’s the obvious candidate for a divine redemption fantasy.

8 chromas total. Obsidian goes hard if you want that edgy contrast against the divine theme, basically flips the whole skin dark. Amethyst hits a purple mage vibe thats actually closer to base Morgana’s color palette but with the upgraded model. Lifebringer is the unique one with a teal and gold combo that reads really distinctly in game. (Random aside: Lifebringer might be my favorite chroma name Riot has ever come up with.) The rest fill out the usual spread but those three are the ones worth caring about.

Morgana mains, is this the one?

Real verdict: Dawnbringer Morgana sits comfortably in the upper half of Morgana’s skin catalog. Not her absolute best. Coven Morgana and Majestic Empress exist and those are tough competition. But if you want something bright and divine instead of dark and gothic, this is the pick.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on every ability, solid recall, a model that actually changes the champion’s visual identity instead of just recoloring it. Still in the shop, permanent availability. Spammed this in Diamond for maybe 40 games last season and it never got old. The golden Q is satisfying to land every single time.

Skip this if you already own Coven and only play Morgana support occasionally. But if you main Morgana or want a lighter aesthetic for your engage support pool, Dawnbringer is worth the lock-in. I rotate between this and Bewitching depending on my mood. Fair price for a skin that genuinely changes how Morgana feels on screen even without new voice lines. Worth it.
