Exiled Morgana

First time I saw Exiled Morgana was back in like season 2, maybe season 3. Someone on the enemy team locked her in and I remember thinking the model looked cleaner than base even though the skin is ancient by modern standards. Been playing Morgana on and off since then and Exiled has this weird charm to it that newer skins dont always capture. Not flashy. Not trying to impress you. Just a solid visual shift that reads well on the Rift.

What Exiled Morgana actually changes

So this is a Standard tier skin at 975 RP, and for that price point you get more than you’d expect from a 2010 release. The model swap gives Morgana this warrior-exile look with heavier armor plating and a palette that leans into dark silvers and muted purples. Kinda feels like Riot was going for a fallen knight vibe before they really nailed that aesthetic with later champions.

The VFX got a light touch. Her Q binding has a slightly different particle read, and the W pool underneath has adjusted coloring that matches the skin’s cooler tones. Nothing dramatic on the E shield or R, but honestly for a skin this old getting any VFX work is a win. Voice lines stay base, no new VO here. Standard stuff for the era.

Where I notice it most is in teamfights. The darker model actually makes her harder to track in chaotic fights around dragon pit, which is a tiny edge if you’re landing Q from fog. Played maybe 40 games with this skin last month in Diamond and the binding felt visually snappier, even though thats obviously just perception. The auto attack animation reads clean too, which matters when you’re trying to cs in lane or proc your passive in trades.

The Woad line and some history

Exiled Morgana released June 1, 2010. Ancient. We’re talking pre-rework Morgana here, back when her wings looked like crumpled paper. Bo ‘chenbowow’ Chen handled the artwork and honestly the splash holds up better than most 2010 splashes. Not amazing by current standards but it tells a story.

The skin sits in the Woad skinline, which is one of Riot’s older thematic groups. Woad skins share that barbarian-warrior-in-exile energy. Woad Ashe and Woad Scout Quinn are in the same family. Cool theme. Morgana fits it naturally because her whole lore is about being cast out, rejected. The exile angle works.

Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it whenever. You either wait for the vault to open or roll it from Hextech crafting. Might be overthinking it but I think Legacy status actually adds to the appeal. Seeing one in your games is rare. Maybe spotted three Exiled Morganas total across two full seasons of ranked.

Should you pick up Exiled Morgana?

Real verdict: at 975 RP this is a fair deal if you main Morgana and want something understated. It’s not competing with Coven or Bewitching for best Morgana skin, those are in a different league entirely. But not every game needs the flashiest option. Sometimes you want to lock in something clean, queue up for support or mid, and just focus on landing bindings.

(Random aside: I used this skin as my phone wallpaper for like two weeks back in 2023 before switching to the Coven splash. The Exiled art has this moody energy that screenshots well.)

Real talk though, if you’re a Morgana one-trick climbing through ranked, you probably already own the big Legendary and Epic options. Exiled fills a different slot. It’s the skin you run when you want to signal that you’ve been playing this champion since before most of your teammates started the game. No chromas available, no recall animation, no fancy extras. Clean model. Decent VFX. Legacy rarity. That’s it. Fair price for the package. Skip it if you only play Morgana occasionally, but for mains who want the full collection it’s a quiet highlight. Not the best Morgana skin, but one with character.
