Lunar Wraith Morgana

First time I saw Lunar Wraith Morgana load in, my duo partner pinged question mark on me because I stopped moving for a solid two seconds. The splash just hits. Morgana floating there with that spectral energy wrapping around her wings, the whole ghostly aesthetic cranked up to something that feels way more expensive than 975 RP. Been running this as my main Morgana skin since around season 8 I think, and honestly not gonna lie, it still holds up in 2026.

What Lunar Wraith actually changes on Morgana

So VFX got a full rework here. Her Q binding flies out with this teal-green wraith energy that reads cleaner than base Morgana’s dark purple. Easier to track in teamfights, which matters when you’re trying to land bindings on the backline through a mess of particles. The W pool shifts to match the spectral theme. Pale ghostly fire on the ground instead of the standard dark circle.

Her E shield keeps the wraith color palette. Teal and white instead of purple. Not a massive change but it looks cohesive. The ult is where it gets interesting though. Chains come out with that same spectral glow and theres something about the contrast against darker Rift terrain that makes it pop harder than base. Played maybe 200 games with this skin across multiple seasons and the R still catches my eye.

New recall animation too. Morgana does this whole ghostly channeling sequence that fits the Lunar Wraith fantasy. Short but clean. Voice lines stay base, no VO refresh, which is expected at this price point. Standard voice, and honestly Erica Lindbeck’s base Morgana VO works fine with the skin anyway.

The Lunar Revel line and where this fits

Lunar Wraith Morgana dropped January 27, 2016. Right in time for the Lunar Revel event that year. The Lunar Revel skinline has some bangers across the roster and Morgana’s entry leans harder into the wraith side than the celebration side. Less festive, more haunted. Kinda feels like Riot wanted to explore the darker folklore angle with this batch.

No chromas on this one. Zero. Which is a shame because a red or gold chroma would have been perfect for the Lunar theme. But it is what it is. Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it whenever. Sits in the vault and comes out during Lunar Revel events or if you get lucky with Hextech crafting. I rolled mine from a chest back in like 2019, last Tuesday of January if I remember right (random aside: I almost rerolled it by accident and my heart stopped for a second).

Is 975 RP fair for Lunar Wraith Morgana?

Real verdict: for a Standard tier skin at 975 RP, Lunar Wraith Morgana punches above its weight. New VFX across all abilities plus a custom recall is solid value. Compare that to some 975 skins that barely change the model color. Could be wrong here but I think this is top three Morgana skins if you dont count Legendaries.

The competition in Morgana’s skin lineup is rough though. Coven Morgana exists. Bewitching exists. Majestic Empress exists. All of those are higher tier with more features. But if you’re a Morgana main climbing through ranked and this drops from a chest, lock it in. The Q particles alone make it worth using over base when you’re trying to land bindings in bot lane specifically during messy engage and disengage sequences. 975 RP well spent for mains, assuming you can even find it outside the vault.
