Bewitching Morgana

Locked in Bewitching Morgana around Halloween last year and honestly wasnt expecting much from a 975 RP skin. First game loading in, the splash caught me off guard. Morgana in a witch outfit with that jack-o-lantern staff just works. Not groundbreaking. But it fits her vibe so naturally that it feels like Riot designed the champion around this concept first.

What the skin actually changes

For a Standard tier skin, Bewitching Morgana punches above its weight class. The model swap gives Morgana a full witch aesthetic: pointed hat, tattered wings with orange and purple tones, and that pumpkin-topped staff that glows during abilities. Her Q binding shoots out with a Halloween-themed particle trail, orange and dark purple mixing together. Looks clean in lane, easy to track.

Not gonna lie, the W pool is where I noticed the biggest difference. Dark Soul drops down with this pumpkin-patch glow instead of the standard purple circle. Playing support last Tuesday around midnight, my ADC actually pinged it asking if it was a new skin. Been out since 2016 and people still dont recognize it. That says something about how rare this thing is in games.

Her ult keeps the shackle mechanic visually similar but the tether has this orange spectral chain look. Nothing crazy for the R, but the recall animation is where Riot put the effort. Morgana sits on a broomstick, whole witch fantasy completed in one animation. Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Standard for this price point. The VFX updates carry the skin on their own though.

The Bewitching line and release context

Bewitching Morgana dropped October 19, 2016. Right before Halloween, obviously. Alex ‘alexplank’ Flores nailed the splash, the lighting on that pumpkin staff with Morgana’s expression is one of my favorite loading screens in the game. The Bewitching skinline is one of Riot’s seasonal staples at this point. Morgana was an early addition before they started pumping out Bewitching skins for everyone.

Sits in the Legacy pool now. You cant just grab it whenever you want. Hextech crafting or waiting for the Halloween vault rotation, those are your options. Could be wrong here but I think it showed up in the shop around October 2024 last time. Maybe just my experience but I’ve seen maybe 4 of these on the Rift all season.

8 chromas total for this skin. Tanzanite shifts the whole palette into deep purple territory, feels more like a dark mage than a Halloween witch. Meteorite goes earthy brown which is a weird choice but kind of unique. Rose Quartz is the one I keep coming back to, the pink tones against the witch hat create this contrast that reads well in teamfight chaos. Not listing every single one but you get the range.

Is Bewitching Morgana worth 975 RP?

Real verdict: for Morgana mains who play support or mid, this is a solid pickup. 975 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on Q and W, a great recall, strong model changes. (Random aside: this splash has been my Discord profile picture for two seasons straight and nobody’s called me out on it.) Compared to something like Coven Morgana which runs at a higher price point, Bewitching holds its own for the cost difference.

The biggest downside is availability. Legacy vault means you might wait months to buy it. If it pops up during Harrowing, lock it in. Spammed this in Diamond duo queue with my support pool and the skin just feels good to play. Morgana’s kit is all about landing that Q binding and peeling for your backline, and the orange VFX on Bewitching make it satisfying every time. Skip it if you already own Coven, but if you’re looking for a budget Morgana skin with personality, this is the one.
