Bewitching Nami

First time I saw Bewitching Nami load into my ranked game I thought it was a custom skin someone modded in. The witch hat on a fish. Sounds ridiculous on paper and honestly it kinda is, but Riot made it work somehow. Been running this as my default Nami skin since around late 2021 when it dropped, and I think it holds up better than most of the seasonal event skins from that year.

What Bewitching Nami actually changes

The whole model gets the Halloween treatment. Nami trades her default aquatic look for a purple and orange witch aesthetic, complete with a wide-brim hat and a staff that looks like it belongs in some haunted candy shop. Not gonna lie, the color palette alone sells this skin. Deep purples, glowing oranges, little spectral bats floating around her abilities.

Q bubble is where it gets good. Instead of the standard water prison, you get this ghostly cauldron bubble that traps enemies. Trapped their Jinx in dragon pit last Tuesday with it and the visual read was so clean my ADC thought I missed because it looked different from base. W bounce has these little pumpkin-colored trails, subtle but noticeable once you spot them. E enchant puts spectral energy on your carry’s autos. Feels satisfying to proc in lane.

The R is the highlight for me though. Nami’s tidal wave becomes this massive wall of ghostly spirits rushing forward. In teamfights it reads beautifully against the Rift, way easier to track than some of her other skins where the ult blends into river terrain. The recall animation has Nami stirring a cauldron, bats swirling around her. Cute stuff. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for a 1350 RP Epic tier skin.

(Random aside: my duo partner who one-tricks Nami has this skin permanently locked in and refuses to use Cosmic Destiny even though he owns it. Says the Bewitching recall animation is “therapeutic” between fights. Whatever that means.)

The Bewitching line and release context

Bewitching Nami released October 7, 2021. Right before Worlds that year if I remember right, season 11. West Studio nailed the splash, Nami floating above a moonlit forest with that witch energy radiating off her staff. The Bewitching skinline is one of Riot’s annual Halloween collections and honestly its one of the more consistent lines quality-wise. Bewitching Morgana, Bewitching Janna, they all hit a similar vibe.

Legacy vault skin, so you cant just grab it any time. Gotta wait for the Halloween event rotation or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Might be overthinking it but I feel like Legacy status actually makes this one feel more special when you do see it in your games. Seen maybe 4 or 5 of these across my Diamond games all season.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is the standout for me, turns the whole witch aesthetic dark and moody which fits the Halloween theme harder than base. Rose Quartz goes in the opposite direction, soft pink tones that make Nami look like she’s casting love spells instead of hexes. Pearl is clean too if you want that ghostly washed-out look. The rest are solid but those three carry the chroma lineup.

Is Bewitching Nami worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: for Nami mains this is an easy pickup. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on every ability, solid recall, strong splash art, and the Bewitching theme suits Nami’s playful personality better than you’d expect from a Halloween skin. The Q and R visual changes alone make it worth considering because they genuinely read differently in lane and in teamfights.

Could be wrong here but I think this sits comfortably in top 3 Nami skins. Cosmic Destiny has the Legendary polish and Splendid Staff has the elegance, but Bewitching Nami has personality. Been spamming this in Diamond during October specifically and the seasonal feel just hits different when you’re peeling for your ADC with ghostly pumpkin water. Skip it if you already have Cosmic Destiny and dont care about seasonal vibes. But if you’re a Nami main who wants variety in the rotation, keep an eye out next time the Legacy vault opens up around Halloween. Top pick for Nami mains who want something with character.
