Bewitching LeBlanc and LeBlanc as a concept is one of the most logical skin ideas Riot has executed in years. Deception mage. Witch aesthetic. The thematic overlap basically writes itself. Bewitching LeBlanc released October 20, 2022 as part of the Halloween batch, dropping alongside Fiora and Nidalee variants in the same event push. First time I spotted this skin was a Diamond solo queue game, enemy mid running her, and the Q animation looked different enough that I double-checked the scoreboard. Not sure if it’s just me but the witch hat silhouette alone reads cleaner in lane than anything LeBlanc has had outside of Coven.
What Bewitching LeBlanc changes in-game
The Q – Sigil of Malice – gets a glowing wax seal particle that procs into a gold-and-purple burst on activation. Looks sharp and reads clearly mid-teamfight, which matters when you’re playing a champion who relies on opponents misreading her position. The W – Distortion – leaves a cauldron bubble trail on the ground where she jumped from. That actually helps me track LeBlanc’s position in chaotic skirmishes better than base does. The E chains get a bone-and-chain visual that fits the Halloween theme without going overboard. Really solid VFX package for an Epic skin at this price.
The ult – Mimic – carries consistent animations for whichever ability she copies, nothing groundbreaking but it holds together well. The recall is the actual highlight of Bewitching LeBlanc: she summons a tiny cauldron, stirs it, cackles. Legitimately one of the better Epic tier recalls I’ve seen. Been running this skin for two full seasons in Diamond and still pop that recall at fountain on purpose every single game.
No new voice lines from Naomi McDonald. Base VO stays unchanged, which is expected at Epic tier, and honestly LeBlanc’s default voice performance is strong enough that you dont notice the absence. VFX and recall carry this one.
The Bewitching line, the artists, and release context
Bewitching LeBlanc released October 20, 2022 – late season 12. Exia Xiaotong alongside West Studio painted the splash piece. (random aside: this has been my desktop background since November 2022 – the lighting on that hat brim is genuinely absurd, one of the better splash pieces Riot put out that whole year.) The Bewitching skinline leans into charming trickster Halloween rather than anything horror-adjacent, and LeBlanc – a champion whose kit runs entirely on mirrors, misdirection, and punishing split-second confusion – maps onto that concept about as cleanly as a thematic match can.
Legacy vault now. This Bewitching skin doesn’t sit in the standard shop permanently – you’re rolling chests during Harrowing events or watching Hextech loot pools. If it surfaces, craft it immediately rather than sitting on shards.
Chromas and which one to actually use
8 chromas available for Bewitching LeBlanc. Obsidian is the standout by a margin – the base purple shifts to deep near-black with silver accents, and the particle work still pops without announcing “it’s Halloween” in a March ranked game. That’s the chroma I lock in for climbing. Catseye does a warm gold color shift that reads differently against dark map backgrounds – my secondary pick, especially in the bot lane sidelane where the lighting hits differently. Rose Quartz was the genuine surprise of the set: soft pink sounds wrong for LeBlanc thematically, but the color sits quietly and doesn’t clash with the VFX work at all.
The other five round out the standard gemstone palette as expected. Obsidian is where the value is.
Is Bewitching LeBlanc worth 1350 RP?
Real verdict: yes, for LeBlanc mains and one-tricks. The VFX set runs above average for an Epic skin at this tier, the recall is legitimately excellent, and the Bewitching skinline concept fits LeBlanc better than most of her roster. Could be wrong here but I’d rank this second overall on LeBlanc after Coven – and that gap isn’t even that wide. Both are worth owning if you’re a serious LeBlanc player spamming her in ranked.
Played roughly 200 games on LeBlanc this season rotating through multiple skins and keep coming back to Bewitching specifically for the Q proc burst and the cauldron recall. In Diamond mid lane the W trail improvement alone made certain 1v1 situations easier to read for both me and my opponent, which weirdly helped my decision-making on clone placement.
The Legacy status is the main friction point. You’re crafting through Hextech or catching it in Harrowing event loot pools rather than buying direct. Worth 1350 RP for mains – the Q and W particles are ones you’ll watch hundreds of times per session, and they earn that price. The Obsidian chroma is worth the extra investment on top if you’re going all-in.
