First time I saw the Coven LeBlanc splash I immediately alt-tabbed out of champion select to check whether it was a Legendary. Dark forest goddess energy, black feathered wings, the full occult priestess look – it reads richer than 1350 RP should look. Been maining LeBlanc in Diamond for a few seasons and this is the most cohesive skin she’s gotten. The Coven skinline was basically designed for her kit.
What Coven LeBlanc actually changes
New VFX across the whole kit. The Q – Sigil of Malice – gets replaced with a dark rune stamp, branded onto targets rather than thrown. When it detonates you see ritual-circle sparks fire off instead of the default purple burst. Small change, but you notice it every trade. LeBlanc burns through Q combos so fast in lane that better particles actually register.
The W is where I think this skin earns its price. The dash animation has a corrupted-trail quality, like she’s leaving residue from the Coven ritual behind her rather than a clean teleport flash. When the clone activates at the origin point and she blinks back, both copies give off the same dark-green shimmer. In my Diamond games opponents have genuinely hesitated on which version to target because the Coven visual makes the clone match too closely. Could be overthinking it, but I don’t think that’s entirely coincidence. The E chains read as thorned vines rather than magical bonds – still clear for gameplay, but flavored correctly for a dark cult assassin.
Recall is strong. LeBlanc performs a full ritual circle sequence, the Coven sigil lights up around her feet and she ascends. Seen maybe two of these in games all season, which honestly is a shame. (Random aside: this recall is why I lock this skin specifically when I need to feel psychologically threatening before the first wave.)
Base voice lines, no changes. Naomi McDonald’s delivery is already cold and predatory enough that no VO refresh was needed. The Coven aesthetic fits without alteration.
Sangsoo Jeong, the April 2020 drop, and the Coven lineup
Coven LeBlanc dropped April 16, 2020. Deep into season 10. Sangsoo Jeong did the splash and they went hard – the wing texture detail alone is above average for an Epic from that era. The lighting on the ritual circle in the background rewards a second look.
Riot released three skins in this first Coven wave: LeBlanc, Lissandra, and Zyra. Best trio packaging they did that year, I think. Three completely different mage kits, one dark forest cult concept, and all three work. LeBlanc slots in best because deception and predation are already core to her identity.
9 chromas total. Dark Ritual is the standout – deep teal with blood-red accents, reads like an entirely different skin and honestly the darkest option in the set. Amethyst goes full purple mage if thats your angle, leans into the arcane sorcerer read more than the cult priestess one. Obsidian strips everything near-monochrome and looks cleaner than the base skin to me. The chroma count is bigger than average for an Epic and the quality holds up across the set.
Is Coven LeBlanc worth 1350 RP?
Worth 1350 if you main LeBlanc. Not a complicated take. The VFX rework makes the burst combo feel more deliberate – every Q proc, every W dash, every E root has the Coven ritual aesthetic attached. For a champion where you’re firing 3-step combos in under a second, particles that read clearly in teamfight chaos matter more than people admit.
Ranked game last Tuesday around 3 AM, their backline peel-rotated toward the wrong copy during a dragon fight because the W origin point and the real LeBlanc looked identical in the Coven shimmer. Free triple. Might be luck. Probably not entirely.
Real verdict: still in the shop, permanent availability, 1350 RP. One of the cleaner executions in the Coven line and the best LeBlanc skin if you play her in the mid lane regularly. Skip Prestigious LeBlanc on the vault, grab this instead.
