Blade Mistress Morgana

First time I saw Blade Mistress Morgana in a loading screen I thought someone was running a custom skin. The whole armored blade aesthetic on a mage support felt so out of place back in season 1 that it stuck with me. Been playing Morgana on and off since maybe season 3, and this skin keeps sneaking back into my rotation when I get tired of the flashier options. Something about the simplicity.

What Blade Mistress Morgana actually changes

Real talk though, this is a 750 RP Standard tier skin from 2010. You’re not getting new particles on your Q or R. No fancy recall animation. Voice lines stay base. What you do get is a full model swap that turns Morgana into this armored warrior look with bladed wings and darker tones across the whole outfit. The wings specifically are the selling point here. Sharp metal edges instead of the usual feathered look.

Played maybe 30 games with this last month in Diamond and the one thing I keep noticing is how clean the silhouette reads in teamfights. When you’re dropping your R into four people and trying to peel for your ADC, the metallic wing spread actually makes your positioning more visible to your team. Could be wrong here but I think the darker color palette also makes it slightly harder to spot the W pool edges if you’re laning against it. Placebo? Probably.

No new VFX on Q, W, E, or R. Standard Morgana particles across the board. The auto attack animation feels the same too. For a skin at this price point thats expected. Simple change – huge impact on the model though.

Steel Valkyries, release context, the whole deal

Blade Mistress Morgana dropped December 1, 2010. Pre-season 1 era basically. Kelly Aleshire did the splash, and for the time period it holds up reasonably well. The Steel Valkyries skinline is where this lives, which is funny because most people associate that line with the newer sci-fi releases. Morgana’s entry feels more medieval knight than futuristic valkyrie but the blade motif connects it.

No chromas available for this one. Zero. Just the base Blade Mistress look and thats it. Shop has it for 750 RP permanently so you can grab it whenever. (Random aside: I keep this skin equipped specifically for when I get autofilled support in ranked because it feels like a “serious Morgana” pick for some reason.)

The Steel Valkyries line has grown a lot since 2010. Blade Mistress Morgana is one of the older entries and it shows in the texture quality compared to recent skins. But Morgana got her visual update a while back and the skin benefited from that rework. The model looks way better now than it did in the original release.

Should you buy Blade Mistress Morgana?

Verdict time. If you main Morgana and you’re looking through her skin catalog, Blade Mistress sits in a weird spot. 750 RP is cheap. Like genuinely cheap for a champion with this many premium options. Not gonna lie, I think skins like Coven Morgana or Bewitching Morgana blow this out of the water for VFX and overall feel. But those cost two to three times more.

For Morgana one-tricks who want variety without dropping 1350+ RP every time, this works. The armored aesthetic is unique in her lineup. Nobody else in her skin pool goes full blade warrior. I lock this in maybe once every ten games just to mix things up between the bigger skins. Last Tuesday around 2 AM in a Diamond ranked game, my jungler actually complimented it in champ select. Said he forgot this skin existed.

Skip this if you only want one Morgana skin and can afford Legendary or Epic tier. Worth 750 RP if you main Morgana and want the full collection or just appreciate the old-school armored look. It does what it needs to do at its price point. Nothing more, nothing less.
