Divine Soraka

First time I saw Divine Soraka was back in like season 2, maybe season 3 dont remember exactly. Someone on my team locked in Soraka support with this skin and I thought it was a default variant I’d never noticed. Took me a second look to realize the whole model was different. Not flashy. Not trying to be. Just clean.

What Divine Soraka actually brings to the table

So this is a Standard tier skin at 975 RP, which puts it in that awkward middle ground. You get new VFX on the abilities, and honestly for a skin from November 2, 2010 thats more than most skins from that era offered. The Q starfall has a slightly different particle read, and W heal carries a warmer glow compared to base Soraka. Nothing that changes how you play her in lane, but the visual feedback feels a touch more responsive.

Voice lines stay base. No new recall animation either. Real talk though, for a 975 RP skin released over fifteen years ago, expecting new VO would be unreasonable. The model itself leans into a celestial priestess look. White and gold palette, flowing robes, the whole divine aesthetic. Riot went for a heavenly guardian vibe and it reads well on the Rift even at max zoom out during teamfights.

Not sure if it’s just me but the auto attack animation feels slightly different with this skin. Could be placebo. Been running this in my Diamond support games for a couple weeks last month and the Q landing zone seemed easier to track against darker map areas. Might be the brighter particle colors giving better contrast when you’re trying to poke in bot lane specifically.

The Otherroads line and where Divine Soraka fits

Divine Soraka sits in the Otherroads skinline. Its one of those older Riot thematic groups that doesnt get the same love as Star Guardian or Coven. The Otherroads concept explores alternate versions of champions, and Divine Soraka imagines her fully leaning into her celestial origins instead of being the wandering healer we know from base lore.

Released November 2, 2010. Early League days. No splash artist credited for this one, which was pretty common back then. The splash itself has aged, not gonna lie. Compared to modern splashes it looks flat, but there’s a nostalgic charm to it. (Random sidebar: I used to have this splash as my desktop background on my old laptop around 2012, purely because it was one of the less busy League artworks.)

Shop has it permanently. 975 RP, available any time you want to grab it. No chromas exist for Divine Soraka, so what you see is what you get. Zero customization beyond the base skin variant.

Should you pick up Divine Soraka?

Okay, the real question. Soraka has a massive skin catalog at this point. Star Guardian exists. Dawnbringer exists. Celestine is right there for a similar angelic vibe. Divine Soraka competes in a crowded space and it shows its age.

But here’s where I land on it. If you’re a Soraka main who wants every skin in the collection, 975 RP is fair for what you get. The VFX updates keep it from feeling completely dated. Played maybe 30 games with it across two weeks in ranked and it never bothered me visually. The gold and white palette reads clean during peel situations when your ADC is getting dove and you need to land Q plus W quickly.

For newer players or anyone only buying one Soraka skin? Skip this. Celestine or Star Guardian give you way more value per RP spent. But for the collectors climbing through support, been daily driving this as a rotation pick and it holds up better than you’d expect from a fifteen year old Standard skin. Could be wrong here but I think Divine Soraka is underrated in the Soraka lineup. Not the best, not close to the worst. Solid middle of the pack.
