First time I saw Definitely Not Blitzcrank load into my game I genuinely laughed out loud. Like full volume, 1 AM, woke up my roommate kind of laugh. A giant steam golem wearing a fake mustache and glasses trying to pass as a human. Thats the whole concept and it works better than it has any right to.
The disguise that fools nobody
Not gonna lie, this skin is basically Blitzcrank in a trench coat, paper mask, and a mustache. The model swap is the entire package here. No new VFX. Voice stays default. No fancy recall animation. For 975 RP you get a costume change and nothing else, but the costume change is so good it carries everything.
The proportions are what sell it. Blitzcrank’s massive robot frame stuffed into what looks like a cheap disguise you’d grab at a costume shop. His rocket grab Q still has the base particles, his W overdrive looks the same, E and R unchanged. Played maybe 40 games with this skin last season in Diamond and not once did the novelty wear off. Every hook you land feels funnier because this ridiculous disguised robot is the one doing it.
Could be wrong here but I think the hitbox on Q actually feels slightly different with this model. It doesnt change anything mechanically obviously, Riot confirmed that ages ago. But the visual read of the arm extending from inside a trench coat just hits different in lane. My duo partner refuses to peel for me when I run this skin because he says he cant take bot lane seriously.
Definitely Not a skinline
Kienan ‘Knockwurst’ Lafferty nailed the splash for this one. The art captures Blitzcrank trying to blend into Piltover society and failing spectacularly. Released October 19, 2011, back when League skins were simpler across the board. Season 1 vibes. The Definitely Not skinline is one of Riot’s joke lines and honestly Blitzcrank might be the best execution of the concept.
This is a Legacy vault skin so you cant just grab it whenever. Sits in the vault most of the year. (Random aside: I got mine from a mystery gift back in like season 4 and it’s been in my rotation ever since.) When it does rotate back into availability during special events, 975 RP is the price tag. Standard tier pricing for a standard tier skin.
No chromas exist for Definitely Not Blitzcrank. Fair enough. Adding chromas to a joke skin about a bad disguise would kind of defeat the purpose. The disguise IS the skin.
Should you grab it from the vault?
Real verdict: if you play Blitzcrank support in ranked and want something that makes your lane opponent tilt from the loading screen, this is the pick. Been running this in Diamond for years and the psychological warfare alone is worth 975 RP. Last Tuesday I hooked their Jinx three times pre-6 and she typed “I cant even be mad losing to that skin” in all chat.
Best joke skin for Blitzcrank full stop. The Definitely Not concept peaked here. No new abilities, no VFX overhaul, just pure comedy packed into a model change. Might be overthinking it but I think skins like this remind you why you play League in the first place. Not everything needs to be a 1820 RP production with sixteen chromas and custom voice lines. Sometimes a robot in a fake mustache hooking people into your tower at 2 AM is enough. Skip it if you need flashy particles, lock it in if you appreciate Riot’s sense of humor.
