Definitely Not Skins

All 8 skins in the Definitely Not skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Definitely Not skin in League of Legends.

Riot's comedy department doesnt get enough credit. The Definitely Not skinline is their longest-running joke, stretching from 2011 all the way to 2020, and it still lands. Eight skins total across the line, ranging from cheap 500 RP gag purchases to full 1350 RP Epic cosplay skins with real production value. Not gonna lie, I have three of these in my collection and they all get rotated into ranked games when I'm feeling chaotic. The whole concept is champions in terrible disguises or dressed up as other League mascots, and the commitment to the bit is what sells it.

What Makes the Definitely Not Line Stand Out

Most skinlines in League try to look cool. Definitely Not tries to look stupid on purpose. That's the pitch.

The original concept started with Definitely Not Blitzcrank back in 2011. Just Blitzcrank wearing a trench coat and hat pretending to be human. No new particles, no fancy recall animation, just a robot in a disguise that fools nobody. The humor is dry and visual, not over-the-top like some of Riot's later comedy attempts. Could be wrong here but I think that simplicity is why the older skins in this line aged better than stuff like Draven Draven, which leans harder into the meme.

The 2019 additions shifted the formula. Pajama Guardian Cosplay Urgot, Pengu Cosplay Tristana, and Furyhorn Cosplay Veigar brought the line into Epic tier territory with actual VFX changes and themed particles. These three feel like a different skinline honestly. The cosplay angle replaced the disguise angle, and the production quality jumped from "texture swap joke" to "legitimate 1350 RP skin that also happens to be funny." (Random aside: Urgot in a Star Guardian outfit is still the funniest thing Riot has ever shipped.)

Color palette across the line is all over the place because there's no unified aesthetic. The older Definitely Not skins stick to muted browns and grays for the disguise look. The cosplay trio goes full pastel pink and purple. Draven Draven is just... Draven's face on everything. Kinda feels like Riot threw every comedy idea into one bucket and called it a skinline, which works because the connecting thread isnt visual, it's tonal. Every skin in this line exists to make you laugh in champ select.

Compared to other comedy lines like Surprise Party or the April Fools one-offs, Definitely Not has more range. You get low-budget classics and high-budget cosplays in the same collection. The splash arts range from deliberately terrible (Definitely Not Udyr's splash is a masterclass in bad-on-purpose art direction) to genuinely gorgeous (the cosplay trio splashes are clean). Been playing since season 3 and this contrast between production values within the same skinline is pretty unique to Definitely Not.

Best Definitely Not Skins to Lock In

Real talk though. Pajama Guardian Cosplay Urgot is the crown jewel. Full stop. Urgot squeezing into a Star Guardian outfit with little wings and a magic wand while still being a horrifying shotgun-kneed crab monster. The Q particles have sparkle effects. His ult drags enemies in with a pink chain. Spammed this in Diamond for about 40 games last season and the tilt factor alone won me lanes. Enemy bot lane types "???" in all chat when they see it in loading screen. 1350 RP and worth every point.

Pengu Cosplay Tristana comes in second. Trist dressed as a penguin with the Pengu mascot theme woven into her abilities. The cannonballs look like snowballs, the W leaves penguin footprints. Might be overthinking it but I think this skin has the cleanest VFX work of the cosplay trio. The recall animation where she waddles around is stupid but I watched it 23 times in a row one weekend instead of actually playing the game.

Third pick is Definitely Not Blitzcrank. The OG. No particles, no new sounds, just a robot in a coat. Released 2011 and it still gets picked constantly. Seen maybe 5 Blitzcranks this season in my games and two of them were running this skin. For 500 RP or whatever it costs now, the value per laugh is unmatched. Simple change - massive comedic impact.

Furyhorn Cosplay Veigar rounds out the top tier. Veigar in a little Furyhorn suit casting dark magic through a plushie hat. The W cage has tiny horns on the pillars if you look closely. Not sure if it's just me but the auto attack animation feels slightly different on this skin, smoother somehow. Probably placebo but I'll take it.

Draven Draven is the wildcard. Its the April Fools skin where Draven has a giant bobblehead of his own face. Some people love it. I think its funny for exactly three games and then the novelty wears off. The spinning axes with Draven faces are objectively hilarious though. (Sidebar for ADC mains specifically: the axes are actually slightly easier to track because the Draven face is larger than default axes, or at least thats how it feels.)

Which Champions Got the Definitely Not Treatment

Eight champions total. Not a huge roster but the picks are deliberate.

Blitzcrank was the original and the most obvious choice. A robot pretending to be human. The joke writes itself. Udyr got the same treatment and honestly it works almost as well. Udyr in a trench coat cycling through stances while pretending to be a normal dude is peak comedy. Vel'Koz rounds out the "disguise" trio and real talk, a void tentacle monster in a suit and glasses is the scariest one because you could almost believe it in certain comps.

The cosplay squad of Urgot, Tristana, and Veigar came later in 2019. These three feel like they belong together more than the rest of the line. Urgot as a Star Guardian, Trist as Pengu, Veigar as a Furyhorn. Each one takes a champion who has no business wearing cute outfits and shoves them into one. Thematic mismatch is the whole point and it lands harder because all three champions have intimidating or serious default designs.

Malzahar with Overlord and Draven with Draven Draven are the oddball inclusions. They fit the comedy vibe but the naming convention breaks. Fair warning, if you're collecting the full Definitely Not set for completion, those two might not scratch the same itch as the disguise and cosplay skins. Who should get the next one? Been saying this since season 10 but Definitely Not Cho'Gath would print money. Giant void monster in a little hat. Riot is leaving cash on the table.

Tier and Pricing Breakdown

Five Standard skins. Three Epics. No Legendaries. No Ultimates. No Mythics.

The Standard skins range from 500 to 975 RP. These are the classic disguise skins plus the meme entries like Draven Draven. Texture changes, maybe a model tweak, no new particles or recalls. You buy these for the joke, not for the production value. Could be coping but I think thats perfectly fine for comedy skins at this price point.

The three Epic skins at 1350 RP are where the real investment is. Pajama Guardian Cosplay Urgot, Pengu Cosplay Tristana, Furyhorn Cosplay Veigar. New models, new particles, new recall animations, new sound effects. These compete with any other 1350 RP skin in the game for quality. Played ranked last Tuesday night with the Urgot skin and got compliments from both teams. The Epics carry this skinline hard in terms of actual content.

No voice line changes on any of them though. Standard VO across the board. For the disguise skins that makes sense because hearing Blitzcrank's robot voice while he's "disguised" as human is part of the comedy. For the cosplay Epics it feels like a missed opportunity. Imagine Urgot doing Star Guardian voice lines. Riot left so much on the table there. Price range of 500 to 1350 RP means you can buy the entire collection for less than one Ultimate skin costs, which is kind of wild for 8 skins.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Definitely Not skins are there?

Eight skins total in the Definitely Not line. Five Standard tier skins including Definitely Not Blitzcrank, Udyr, and Vel'Koz plus Draven Draven and Overlord Malzahar. Three Epics dropped in 2019 with the cosplay batch. Not a massive roster but the comedy value per skin is high. Been collecting these since season 4 and eight feels like enough honestly.

What is the best Definitely Not skin?

Pajama Guardian Cosplay Urgot. Not even close. The contrast between Urgot's disgusting crab body and a sparkly Star Guardian outfit is the funniest thing in League. Plus the VFX work is genuinely solid for 1350 RP. Locked this in for ranked games last week and the enemy team was typing in all chat before minions spawned. Tilt advantage is real.

Which champions have Definitely Not skins?

Urgot, Tristana, Veigar, Blitzcrank, Udyr, Malzahar, Draven, and Vel'Koz. Eight champions covering support, ADC, mid, top, and jungle. The disguise trio is Blitz, Udyr, Vel'Koz. The cosplay squad is Urgot, Trist, Veigar. Then Draven and Malzahar are the meme wildcards. Decent role coverage for a comedy line.

Does Definitely Not have Legendary skins?

Nope. No Legendaries in the line. Highest tier is Epic at 1350 RP with the three cosplay skins. Kinda makes sense though. Comedy skinlines usually dont get the Legendary treatment because new voice lines and animations cost serious dev time. The three Epics already feel premium enough for joke skins. Maybe one day Riot will drop a Legendary here but I'm not holding my breath.

When did the Definitely Not skinline release?

First skin was Definitely Not Blitzcrank back in 2011. The line kept getting additions over the years with the most recent batch dropping in 2020. Nine year span for eight skins, so Riot wasnt exactly rushing these out. The 2019 cosplay additions were the biggest single drop with three Epics at once. Slow burn skinline that built up over time.

Are Definitely Not skins worth buying?

Depends what you want. If you main any of these champions and enjoy comedy skins, absolutely. The cosplay Epics at 1350 RP are genuinely good skins with solid particle work. The Standards are cheap impulse buys at 500-975 RP. Not gonna lie, I've gotten more enjoyment per RP spent from this line than from some 1820 RP Legendaries. The tilt factor in ranked is a legitimate strategic advantage too.

Do Definitely Not skins have chromas?

Some of the Epic cosplay skins have chromas available. The Standard tier disguise skins generally don't since they're older releases from before Riot went heavy on the chroma system. If chromas matter to you, stick with the 2019 cosplay batch. Those have actual color variety options. The older skins are what they are, one look, take it or leave it.

Will Riot make more Definitely Not skins?

Hard to say. Last addition was 2020 and its now 2026 with no new entries. Riot tends to cycle back to popular comedy lines eventually though. The cosplay concept has legs, tons of champions would work for it. Could be wrong here but I think we'll see another batch eventually. Community keeps requesting Definitely Not Cho'Gath and Rek'Sai on Reddit. Riot reads those threads, probably.
