Is EUW in Valorant the same as EUW in League?
No, and this trips up a lot of League players. League splits Europe into two servers, EUW and EUNE, and an account lives on one of them. Valorant does not do that. It has one EU region covering Europe, so a European Valorant account plays in the same region whether you live in Lisbon or in Warsaw. We call our category EUW because our store started with League, where EUW is the name everyone knows (old habits die hard, even for us).
So the question for Valorant is simpler: do you play from Europe? If yes, an EU account is the one. If you are in North America, the NA account is what you want instead (different lobbies, different players, different ping).
What should an EUW Valorant account include?
Three things, from any seller. Full ownership first: you should be able to attach your own email and change the password, otherwise someone else can take the account back. Then the region, which for European players means EU. And written warranty terms you can read before paying, because a warranty without conditions is just a nice word.
Look, one more thing is specific to Valorant: Vanguard. Riot’s anti-cheat runs on your PC and is strict, so never run third-party tools on a bought account. Cheating bans are permanent, and no store replaces them.
When can you play ranked on a fresh EU account?
Competitive unlocks at account level 20. Before that, a new account plays unrated, Spike Rush and Deathmatch. Honestly, skipping that stretch is why most people buy.
