Re-Gifted Amumu

First time I saw Re-Gifted Amumu in a loading screen I actually laughed out loud. Not sure if it’s just me but there’s something about wrapping the saddest champion on the Rift in discarded gift paper that just works. The whole concept leans into Amumu’s lonely kid energy so hard it circles back around to being genuinely funny. Been running this in my Diamond games since maybe season 4 or 5, dont remember exactly, and the reactions from teammates never get old.

What Re-Gifted Amumu actually looks like

So this is a 520 RP Standard tier skin. Manage your expectations. No new VFX, no new animations, base voice lines. What you get is a full model swap and honestly for the price point its fine for what it is.

Amumu’s bandages get replaced with torn wrapping paper. Greens, reds, some crumpled ribbon bits hanging off him. The bow on his head is the standout detail. Looks like someone wrapped him up as a present and then, well, re-gifted him. Classic Amumu energy right there. The color palette shifts from his usual dusty mummy look to holiday wrapping paper tones, which reads surprisingly clean against Summoner’s Rift.

Could be wrong here but I think the texture work holds up better than some other 520 skins from the same era. Compare it to something like Pharaoh Amumu and the silhouette difference is more noticeable in teamfights. The crinkled paper texture catches light in a way that makes him pop during jungle clear, especially around blue buff where the contrast works in his favor.

Voice pack is base only. Q bandage toss still uses default particles, same with his W tears and R ult. No recall animation changes either. Standard stuff for a skin at this price tier.

The Snowdown Showdown holiday context

Re-Gifted Amumu dropped December 14, 2010. Early League days. Part of the Snowdown Showdown skinline, which Riot used to roll out every winter. (Random aside: Snowdown skins from 2010-2012 hit different, Riot was just having fun back then.) The whole line had that cozy holiday vibe before event passes and prestige editions became the norm.

This one sits in the Legacy vault now. You can’t just grab it from the shop whenever you want. Vault rotation skin, so either wait for Snowdown events or hope you roll it from Hextech crafting. I pulled mine from a chest back in like season 7, last Tuesday of December I think, and was honestly more excited than I should have been for a 520 RP skin.

No chromas available. For a skin this old at this price, thats expected. No splash artist credited in the data either, though the splash itself captures the sad re-gifted theme perfectly. Amumu sitting alone with torn wrapping paper around him. Peak sadness.

Should you pick up Re-Gifted Amumu?

Real verdict: 520 RP feels fair for what you get. The model swap is clean, the theme is funny and fits Amumu’s character better than half his other skins. Played maybe 200 games with this one across multiple seasons and I keep coming back to it over flashier options like Surprise Party.

The problem is availability. Legacy catalog means you cant just buy it. If it shows up in Your Shop or during a Snowdown event, lock it in. Especially if you main Amumu jungle. Real talk though, for ranked climbing in low elo where Amumu is a monster, skin choice barely matters. But if you’re an Amumu one-trick who wants the full collection, Re-Gifted is one of those skins that shows you’ve been around since the early seasons. That alone carries weight in champ select.

Skip it if you only want one Amumu skin and can afford Surprise Party or Sad Robot. But for 520 RP from a chest? Easy keep. Been spamming Amumu in Diamond this split specifically with Re-Gifted and the holiday vibes make even a bad gank feel festive.
