First time I saw Candy Cane Miss Fortune was back in season 2, some random ARAM lobby around Christmas. The splash loaded and I remember thinking Riot actually put effort into holiday skins back then. Fast forward to now and I still see this one pop up maybe twice a season in my Diamond games. Legacy vault skin so thats expected. But every time it shows up in a loading screen it hits different than you’d think for a 2010 release.

What Candy Cane Miss Fortune actually brings

So this is a Standard tier skin at 975 RP, and for that price point you get a full model swap. Miss Fortune trades her pirate gear for a red and white striped holiday outfit. Candy cane guns. Not figuratively. Literal candy canes as her dual pistols. Kinda feels like Riot was having fun with the concept and just went all in on the Christmas theme.

The VFX got a holiday treatment which is honestly surprising for a skin this old. Her Q bounces carry a frosty particle trail, and Double Up leaves little sparkle effects on impact. Her E – Make It Rain – drops what looks like peppermint candy instead of bullets. Been running this in ranked around December for years and the E particles genuinely look clean against the Rift terrain. Not gonna lie, for a 975 RP skin released December 14, 2010, the visual package holds up better than some 1350s I own.

Her ult is where you notice the age though. Bullet Time fires off the candy cane projectiles but the density of effects feels thin compared to modern Miss Fortune skins. Pre-6 laning phase the skin looks great. Late-game teamfights where you’re channeling R into the backline, it just doesnt pop the way something like Star Guardian does. Voice lines stay base, no new VO. Standard for the era.

(Random aside: I used this skin as my phone wallpaper for an entire December back in like 2019. Andrew Theophilopoulos did the splash and it genuinely holds up as a piece of holiday art.)

The Snowdown Showdown legacy

Candy Cane Miss Fortune belongs to the Snowdown Showdown skinline. One of Riot’s original seasonal batches. Released December 14, 2010, back when the game was barely a year old. Wild to think about. The Snowdown line gave us some classics and some forgettable ones. This falls closer to classic territory for Miss Fortune mains specifically.

No chromas on this one. Zero. Which makes sense given the era and the Legacy status. Sits in the vault so you’re either rolling it from Hextech chests or waiting for one of those rare Legacy shop events Riot does around the holidays. Could be wrong here but I think the last time it was directly purchasable was a Your Shop rotation maybe season 11 or 12. Saw it in my shop last Tuesday actually, almost re-bought it on a smurf account.

Miss Fortune has a massive skin catalog at this point. Fifteen plus options. Candy Cane sits in a weird spot where it’s not her best skin by any metric but it carries nostalgia weight that newer releases cant replicate. The ADC mains who been playing since season 1 or 2 know what I’m talking about.

Should you hunt for Candy Cane Miss Fortune?

Real verdict: 975 RP feels fair for what you get if it ever lands in your shop rotation. The model is clean, the candy cane guns are genuinely funny in lane, and the Snowdown VFX add enough holiday flavor to justify picking it over base during December. Not a skin you lock in year-round though. Maybe just my experience but I always swap back to Captain Fortune or Star Guardian after the holidays end.

If you main Miss Fortune and you’re building the collection, this is a must-have for completionists. Hextech only these days so patience is required. For everyone else spamming MF in solo queue to climb – skip it unless you care about the seasonal flex. There’s better Miss Fortune skins for 1350 that give you more bang for your RP. Simple change – huge visual upgrade with those. But none of them have candy cane guns. That counts for something in bot lane around Christmas, season 9 I think or 10 dont remember exactly when I started the tradition of only using this skin in December ranked games.
