Pajama Guardian Miss Fortune

Not gonna lie, when Riot dropped the Pajama Guardian line I thought it was a joke. Like a meme skin set that somehow got greenlit. Then I saw Miss Fortune in that onesie and something about it just clicked. Been running this in Diamond for two seasons now and the reactions in champ select never get old. People either love it or they flame you before minions even spawn.

What the pajama version actually changes

So Pajama Guardian Miss Fortune is basically the Star Guardian Season 2 skin wearing sleepwear. Sounds lazy on paper. The model swaps out the magical girl outfit for a full star-themed onesie, complete with fuzzy slippers and a hood that has little ears on it. The guns get the same star-infused treatment from the original Star Guardian but the whole vibe shifts from “cosmic warrior” to “Saturday morning cartoons.” Big mood.

VFX carry over the Star Guardian particle set. Your Q bounces leave star trails, Double Up looks clean with the sparkle effects, and Make It Rain drops little stars across the zone. Ult is the highlight honestly – Bullet Time sprays this wave of pink and gold projectiles that light up teamfights. Could be wrong here but I think the particles read slightly different from the base Star Guardian version, maybe its just the model contrast playing tricks.

Recall animation is new. Miss Fortune does this whole bedtime routine, pulls out a pillow, yawns. Cute stuff. Voice lines stay base, no new VO which is expected at the 1350 RP tier. The recall alone sells it for me though. Played maybe 40 games in a row with this skin last March and the recall never got stale.

(Random aside: my duo partner refuses to play with me when I lock this in because he says it “doesn’t match the energy of ranked.” Whatever that means.)

The Star Guardian pajama experiment

Pajama Guardian Miss Fortune released November 21, 2018. Late season 8. Sangsoo Jeong nailed the splash, the whole slumber party composition with the other Pajama Guardians looks cozy. Part of the Star Guardian Season 2 lineup but the pajama variants were their own sub-release. Riot basically took existing Star Guardian skins and asked “what if they had a sleepover” and honestly the concept works better than it should.

No chromas on this one. Zero. Which feels like a missed opportunity because a dark blue or purple pajama recolor would go hard. But Riot left it as-is. The price sits at 1350 RP, standard Epic pricing. For what you get – new model, Star Guardian VFX, new recall – thats fair. Nothing groundbreaking but nothing feels missing either.

The Star Guardian Season 2 skinline is one of Riot’s most popular. Miss Fortune fits the theme naturally as the confident leader type. The pajama twist adds personality without undermining the fantasy. I remember back in season 9 I think, seeing three Pajama Guardian skins in a single ARAM game around 1 AM. Peak League experience right there.

Should you pick up Pajama Guardian Miss Fortune?

Real verdict: this skin lives or dies on whether you vibe with the concept. If you want a serious Miss Fortune skin for climbing, Gun Goddess or Captain Fortune exist. If you want something that makes bot lane feel less sweaty during a late night grind session, Pajama Guardian is the pick.

Kinda feels like the skin works best as a secondary option. Your fun skin. The one you lock in after a loss streak to reset mental. 1350 RP feels fair for the package, and Miss Fortune mains who already own Star Guardian might want this just for variety. Shop has it, permanent availability, no vault rotation to worry about.

The VFX do their job in lane. Star trails on Q poke read well against minion waves, and the ult particles are visible enough that your team knows you’re channeling. Had a game last Tuesday where my Kayn jungler didnt realize I was ulting dragon pit because he “couldn’t see it” but I blame his monitor settings, not the skin.

Miss Fortune has a stacked skin catalog at this point. Pajama Guardian sits in the mid-tier for me. Not her best, not forgettable. Solid B+ that earns its spot in rotation. Skip it if you only want one Miss Fortune skin, but if you main her and rotate through three or four? Worth the 1350 RP for mains. The onesie energy is unmatched on the Rift.
