Amumu

Amumu Skins

14 skins available

Amumu has 14 skins and honestly the range is wild for a champion most people write off as "baby's first jungler." Been playing him on and off since season 3, picked him up when I was hardstuck Silver and needed something braindead to climb with. Worked, by the way. The skin catalog tells a story here - from early 2010 texture swaps that look like they were made in MS Paint to some genuinely clean Epic releases in the last few years. Not gonna lie, his collection punches way harder than you'd expect for a sad mummy.

How Amumu's Skin Collection Grew Over 15 Years

Fourteen skins spanning 2010 to 2025. That's a solid catalog for any champion, but especially for a jungler who doesn't exactly sell the fantasy of "cool main character energy." Amumu's breakdown goes like this: six Standards, seven Epics, and one Mythic. No Legendary. Think about that for a second. A champion who's been in the game since basically launch and Riot never gave him a Legendary. Wild.

The early stuff is rough. Emumu dropped in 2010 and its basically just an emo recolor. Pharaoh Amumu, Vancouver Amumu, Re-Gifted Amumu - these are all products of that era where Riot thought changing the color palette counted as a skin. Fair enough, everyone was doing it back then. The game looked different in season 1.

Things started picking up around 2012-2013. Little Knight Amumu gave him a cute medieval angle. Then Sad Robot Amumu landed and suddenly people realized this champion could actually carry interesting skin concepts. The shift from "recolor with a different hat" to "completely reimagined character" happened somewhere in there.

Seven Epic skins is impressive. Means Riot kept coming back to Amumu for the 1350 RP treatment over and over. Could be wrong here but I think that ratio of Epics to total skins is above average for champions in his price bracket. The recent releases like Porcelain Amumu and Dumpling Darlings Amumu show Riot still sees value in giving the sad boy new outfits. Good sign for mains.

Kinda feels like the collection has two distinct halves. Pre-2015 Amumu skins are mostly nostalgia picks. Post-2015 is where the real quality lives. If you're picking up Amumu skins today, you're probably shopping in that second half exclusively.

Best Skins for Amumu

Hextech Amumu is the crown jewel and its not even close. Mythic tier, special acquisition only - you need Gemstones or Mythic Essence to grab this one. The hextech crystal aesthetic wraps around his model perfectly. Q feels like you're throwing a crystalline tether, and when you land the R in a teamfight the whole stun effect has this blue-gold shatter animation. Been running this in my Diamond games whenever I get it from the loot system and the amount of compliments in lobby chat is actually surprising for a jungler skin. (Random aside: jungle mains never get compliment for their skins, so this one hits different.)

Sad Robot Amumu is the fan favorite for a reason. 1350 RP and the thematic just works. Little robot crying oil tears. The W aura becomes this mechanical exhaust cloud and the bandage toss looks like a grappling hook. Played maybe 150 games with this one across seasons 10 and 11. The recall animation where he short-circuits is genuinely sad in a funny way. Top tier Epic skin.

Surprise Party Amumu at 1350 RP is the sleeper pick that I think more people should talk about. Party hat, confetti abilities, the whole package. Your ult literally pops streamers. Locked this in for a solid month last split when I was climbing through Plat on a smurf and it never got old. The contrast between "sad champion" and "party theme" creates this energy thats hard to explain. Just works.

Infernal Amumu brings the heat. Literally. Fire effects on everything, molten model, the W becomes a ring of flames around you. In teamfights the visual clarity is actually pretty good despite all the fire VFX - you can still read the Q and R hitboxes clean. Not sure if it's just me but the auto attack animation feels slightly smoother on this skin too. Might be placebo. 1350 RP well spent either way.

Pumpkin Prince Amumu rounds out the top five. Halloween thematic, released as part of the seasonal rotation. The pumpkin head is adorable and the abilities get that orange-green spooky treatment. Solid skin. Not the best in the catalog but definitely earns its spot above the older Standards. If you play Amumu during October this is the lock-in, no question.

Skinlines and Themes That Fit Amumu

Amumu shows up in a bunch of skinlines and honestly some fit better than others. The Pharaoh line is one of the oldest in the game and Amumu being a mummy makes the Egyptian angle obvious. Almost too obvious. It works but it doesnt push any creative boundaries.

Winter Sports gave us Vancouver Amumu which is a product of the 2010 Olympics tie-in era. Legacy vault skin now. Cool piece of history but the skin itself is nothing special by modern standards. Snowdown Showdown brought Re-Gifted Amumu which leans into the "nobody loves me" angle during Christmas. Thematic fit is perfect for the champion fantasy even if the execution is dated.

The Goth line with Emumu is interesting from a lore perspective. Sad kid goes emo. Makes sense. Real talk though the skin is so old it barely qualifies as a different look anymore. Medieval with Little Knight Amumu gives him a tiny suit of armor and honestly for a 750 RP skin from that era it holds up okay. (Sidebar for people who collect old skins: Little Knight has that early Riot charm that newer skins cant replicate.)

Mad Scientists and Surprise Party are where Amumu's skinline appearances get creative. Sad Robot falls into the robot/mech category which Riot loves revisiting. The party theme is a one-off thematic that works because it subverts expectations. Might be overthinking it but I think Amumu benefits most from skinlines that lean into the emotional contrast - happy themes on a sad champion, powerful themes on a small champion. That tension is what makes his best skins work.

More recent lines like Porcelain and Dumpling Darlings show Riot expanding into cultural themes. Both solid fits. The delicate porcelain aesthetic works surprisingly well on a champion who's all about being fragile and emotional.

Budget vs Premium: Where to Spend on Amumu

Here's the thing with Amumu's catalog. No Legendary means your ceiling is 1350 RP for a purchasable skin. Hextech is Mythic but you cant just buy it outright. So the spending decision is really between the old Standards at 520-750 RP and the Epics at 1350.

Best value pick is honestly a tough call between Sad Robot and Surprise Party, both at 1350. Gun to my head I'm saying Sad Robot because the theme has more universal appeal and the VFX changes are more noticeable in game. But Surprise Party is right there.

On the budget end, Little Knight Amumu at 750 RP punches above its weight class. Not gonna lie, for the price you get a clean reskin that reads well on the Rift. Almost-Prom King Amumu at 520 RP is the absolute cheapest option and its fine. Just fine. Nothing more.

If you're a one-trick Amumu player grinding ranked, invest in one Epic skin and maybe grab a Standard for variety. You dont need all 14. Played against an Amumu one-trick last Tuesday in solo queue who rotated between Sad Robot and Infernal every game. Smart approach. Two good skins in rotation keeps things fresh without emptying the wallet. The Standards are really only worth it for collectors or people who want the full set for flex in champ select.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many skins does Amumu have?

Amumu has 14 skins total as of 2025. Six Standards, seven Epics, one Mythic. No Legendary which is kinda surprising for a champion thats been around since 2009. The collection spans from 2010 with Emumu all the way to Dumpling Darlings Amumu in 2025. Solid catalog for a jungle main.

What is the best Amumu skin?

Hextech Amumu if you can get it. Mythic tier, crystal effects on everything, looks incredible in teamfights. For a skin you can actually buy, Sad Robot Amumu at 1350 RP is the consensus pick. Been spamming it in ranked for seasons and the robot theme never gets old. Surprise Party is a close second though.

What is the cheapest Amumu skin?

Almost-Prom King Amumu at 520 RP is the cheapest you can grab. It's a simple reskin - Amumu in a tuxedo looking sad about prom. Classic. For a bit more at 750 RP, Little Knight Amumu gives better value. Both are Standards with no new VFX or animations but they get the job done on a budget.

Does Amumu have a Legendary skin?

Nope. No Legendary for Amumu as of 2025. His highest tier is Mythic with Hextech Amumu which requires Mythic Essence. Feels like an oversight honestly. Champion's been in the game since launch and still no 1820 RP skin with new voice lines and animations. Maybe someday. Riot keeps surprising us.

What skinlines is Amumu in?

Amumu shows up in Pharaoh, Winter Sports (Vancouver), Goth (Emumu), Snowdown Showdown, Day Job, Medieval, Mad Scientists, Surprise Party, Infernal, Porcelain, and Dumpling Darlings among others. Wide spread across thematic lines. I think the Surprise Party and Mad Scientists lines suit him best personally. The sad-meets-happy contrast just works.

Does Amumu have chromas?

Several of his newer Epic skins come with chroma options. Infernal, Pumpkin Prince, Porcelain, and Dumpling Darlings all have chroma sets available. The older Standards dont have chromas at all. If chromas matter to you, stick with the 1350 RP skins from 2018 onward. More color variety there.

When was Amumu's last skin released?

Dumpling Darlings Amumu dropped in 2025. Part of the Lunar-adjacent Dumpling Darlings line. Before that was Heartache Amumu. Riot's been pretty consistent about giving him a new skin every year or two recently. Good news if you main him - the pipeline isnt drying up anytime soon.

Is Amumu worth buying skins for?

If you play jungle and Amumu's in your rotation, absolutely. Grab Sad Robot or Surprise Party and you're set. He's always meta-adjacent because his R is one of the best engage tools in the game. Even when he's not S-tier he's playable. One good skin is enough unless you're a collector. Dont need the full 14.
