Space Groove Skins
All 18 skins in the Space Groove skinline. Browse splash art, chromas, and detailed reviews for every Space Groove skin in League of Legends.
Space Groove is Riot's answer to the question nobody asked but everyone needed: what if League of Legends champions were funky aliens at a 70s disco party in outer space? Not gonna lie, when this line dropped in 2021 I thought it was gonna be another throwaway event skinline. Played against a Space Groove Lux my first game after the patch and immediately changed my mind. The color palette alone - neon pinks, teals, purples, that whole retro-futuristic gradient thing - hits different from anything else on the Rift. 18 skins deep now across two releases, and the line still holds up as one of the most visually cohesive sets Riot has put out.

What Makes Space Groove Stand Out
The visual identity here is tight. Every skin in the line shares this liquid psychedelic aesthetic where ability VFX look like they're made of melted lava lamp fluid. Bright. Saturated. The kind of colors that make your eyes adjust when you tab back to a normal skin. Been playing ranked with these skins on and off since season 11 and the visual consistency across the roster is something Riot doesnt always nail with bigger skinlines.
Kinda feels like the art team had a very specific mood board for this one. There's a shared silhouette language too - rounded shapes, bubble-like particles, those little star motifs in the recall animations. Compare it to something like Odyssey which also does "space theme" but leans military sci-fi. Space Groove goes full Saturday Night Fever meets Guardians of the Galaxy. The splashes all share that same deep space background with nebula colors, which means the collection page actually looks coherent when you scroll through it.
Sound design carries weight here. The auto-attack sounds on most of these skins have this subtle synth quality. Not overpowering, just enough that you notice it in lane. The recall music across the line all pulls from the same disco-funk palette. Honestly some of the best thematic audio work Riot has done outside of Pentakill. (Random aside: I had the Space Groove login screen music as my alarm for like three months in 2021. Bad idea. Pavlov'd myself into hating it.)
What ties the whole thing together is the lore concept. These champions are basically intergalactic groove guardians protecting the universe through dance. Sounds ridiculous typed out. Works perfectly in game. The theme gives every champion a reason to exist in this universe without feeling forced, which is more than I can say for some skinlines where half the roster looks copy-pasted.
Best Space Groove Skins
Space Groove Blitz & Crank is the crown jewel. Full stop. This Legendary turns Blitzcrank into a DJ duo where the little pilot (Crank) rides on top spinning records. New VO, unique animations, the hook sound effect alone is worth the 1820 RP. Been spamming this in Diamond support games and the Q landing sound has this satisfying vinyl scratch quality. Every ability feels intentional. The dance emote? Absurd. My duo partner and I have a rule: if I land three hooks in lane phase, we both dance at tower. Stupid but its become tradition at this point.
Space Groove Teemo is the other Legendary and it's almost as good. Teemo as a tiny alien grooving across the Rift with mushrooms that look like disco balls. The shrooms pulsing with light when enemies walk near them is genuinely useful gameplay information wrapped in style. Could be wrong here but I think the Teemo skin might actually be the more popular pick in ranked. See it constantly. Last season I counted maybe 15 Teemo players in my games across a two-week stretch and at least 10 were running Space Groove.
For Epics, Space Groove Twisted Fate stands out. The card particles have this clean neon treatment and the recall animation where he shuffles cards at a cosmic poker table is chef's kiss for TF mains. 1350 RP well spent if you play him at all.
Space Groove Nami deserves a mention too. The water effects translate perfectly into the psychedelic color scheme. Her ult wave in Space Groove looks like a tidal wave of liquid light. Real talk though, the Prestige version of Nami edges out the base Space Groove for me. That gold and white variant just reads cleaner in teamfights when theres a lot happening on screen.
Space Groove Gwen surprised me. She dropped in the second wave and I wasnt expecting much since Gwen already had solid options. But the scissors VFX with those neon trails during her Q snips? Clean. The W mist zone becomes this groovy force field that actually looks distinct from other Gwen skins. Took this into ranked for about 30 games when it came out and it felt smooth to play.
The Champion Roster
16 champions across two release waves. 2021 brought the first batch, 2022 filled it out. Not sure if it's just me but this roster feels like Riot specifically picked champions who would look funny dancing. And honestly? Good call.
Nunu & Willump fit the Space Groove vibe perfectly. Big yeti grooving through the jungle with a kid on top. The snowball (W) becoming a rolling disco ball is the kind of creative reinterpretation that makes skinlines worth caring about. Taric also works naturally here - dude already has that fabulous energy in his base kit so putting him in a cosmic disco outfit just makes sense. His hammer strikes have this rhythmic quality in Space Groove that matches his kit's cadence.
Some picks feel more surprising. Ornn in a disco skinline? Seemed weird on paper. In practice the forge effects with psychedelic fire actually go hard. Lissandra works because her ice abilities translate well into crystalline light effects. Samira's combo-heavy playstyle pairs well with the musical theme - her style rank going up while disco effects intensify is a nice touch.
Gragas dancing with a cosmic keg. Nasus bopping his cane to an intergalactic beat. Rumble's mech redesigned as some kind of funky space pod. These are the picks that make Space Groove feel playful instead of tryhard edgy like half of Riot's recent output. (Sidebar for support mains: Lulu in this line is S-tier. The Prestige version is one of the best Prestige skins period.)
Who's missing? Been saying this since the line came out - Bard belongs in Space Groove. His whole cosmic wanderer aesthetic, the chime sounds, the portal mechanic. Natural fit. Riot if you're reading this, season 15, make it happen. Sona is the other obvious omission. Musical champion not in the musical skinline feels like an oversight.
Tier Breakdown and Pricing
14 Epics at 1350 RP each. Two Legendaries at 1820 RP. Two Mythic Prestige editions. No Standard tier skins, no Ultimate. The line lives and dies on its Epics which is fine because the Epic quality here is above average for 1350.
Might be overthinking it but I think Space Groove represents Riot's sweet spot for skinline pricing. The Epics all have custom VFX, unique recalls, and that shared thematic audio. You're not paying 1350 for a glorified chroma. The two Legendaries (Teemo and Blitzcrank) justify the 1820 jump with full VO and animation overhauls. Price range of 1350 to 1820 means you can get into the line without breaking the bank.
The Prestige editions for Lulu and Nami are the flex picks. Can't buy them outright anymore. Hextech crafting only these days for both. If you rolled either from a chest, congrats. Seen maybe 5 Prestige Space Groove Lulus in my games total across three seasons. Rare enough to turn heads in champ select.
Value per RP spent, this line punches above its weight. Compare to something like Arcana where the Epics feel like they could've been 975 skins with a VFX pass. Space Groove Epics consistently deliver 1350 worth of content. Not every skinline can say that. Fair warning - once you start playing with Space Groove VFX you might find base skins feel flat. Happened to me with Lux specifically. Played 40 or 50 games on Space Groove Lux during season 12, swapped back to base for one ARAM, felt wrong.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Space Groove skins are there?
18 skins total across two release waves. First batch dropped in 2021, second wave came 2022. That includes 14 Epics, 2 Legendaries for Teemo and Blitzcrank, and 2 Prestige Mythic editions for Lulu and Nami. Solid roster. Covers 16 different champions so there's decent variety if you main any of them.
What is the best Space Groove skin?
Space Groove Blitz & Crank for me. The Legendary treatment with full new VO, the DJ duo concept, that hook sound effect. It's the complete package at 1820 RP. Space Groove Teemo is close second though. If you dont play either champion, Twisted Fate or Gwen are the best Epics in the line.
Which champions have Space Groove skins?
16 champions total. Teemo, Blitzcrank, Twisted Fate, Lulu, Nami, Gwen, Lux, Nunu & Willump, Taric, Rumble, Nasus, Gragas, Lissandra, Zac, Samira, and Ornn. Lulu and Nami both have Prestige editions on top of their base Space Groove skins. Pretty wide champion spread for a themed line.
Does Space Groove have Legendary skins?
Two Legendaries. Space Groove Teemo and Space Groove Blitz & Crank, both at 1820 RP. Both got the full treatment - new voice lines, unique animations, completely reworked ability VFX. They're the flagships of the whole line and honestly both justify the Legendary price tag. No complaints from me on either.
When did the Space Groove skinline release?
First wave hit in 2021 with champions like Lux, Nasus, Blitzcrank, and others. Second wave followed in 2022 adding Nami, Ornn, Gragas, and more. Been quiet since then. Two years of content across two batches. Riot hasn't announced a third wave but the line feels like it could support one.
Are Space Groove skins worth buying?
If you main any of the 16 champions in the line, yeah probably. The Epics at 1350 RP punch above their weight with clean VFX and that disco audio design. The Legendaries are genuinely great. Not gonna lie, there's not a single bad skin in the set. Some are better than others but none feel like a waste of RP. Rare for a line this big.
Do Space Groove skins have chromas?
Most of the Epic Space Groove skins have chromas available. The standard set - Ruby, Obsidian, Pearl and others depending on the specific skin. The Legendaries don't have chromas which is normal for that tier. Prestige editions are their own thing obviously. Check individual skin pages for exact chroma counts since it varies champion to champion.
Will Riot make more Space Groove skins?
No official word from Riot as of early 2026. The line hasn't gotten new skins since 2022 which is a while. Could be done, could get a surprise third wave. Riot tends to revisit popular lines eventually. Space Groove sold well from what I remember so I wouldn't rule out more champions joining the disco. Bard and Sona feel like obvious candidates if it happens.
