Space Groove Lissandra

First time I saw Space Groove Lissandra load in, I thought someone modded their client. The color palette is so far from base Lissandra that it barely registers as the same champion. Bright purples, disco energy, groovy particle work. Been running this in Diamond since late 2022 and it still catches people off guard in champ select. Not gonna lie, the skin just fits her kit way better than you’d expect from a funky dance theme on an ice mage.

What Space Groove actually changes on Lissandra

The VFX overhaul is the main sell here. Her Q sends out this wavey disco projectile that leaves a trail of sparkles instead of ice shards. Looks clean in lane, especially when you’re poking through the wave trying to cs and harass at the same time. The W root effect swaps the ice ring for this pulsing groove circle that honestly reads better in teamfights than the base version.

E is where it gets interesting. The claw travels with this funky trail behind it, and when you reactivate to snap forward, there’s a satisfying burst of color. Used it to dive their backline last week in a ranked game around midnight and my duo thought I was playing a different champion entirely. The R self-cast gives Lissandra this disco ball frozen moment. Hard to describe but its cool to watch. Kinda feels like Riot put more effort into the ult VFX than some Legendary skins get on their entire kit.

Recall animation is new. Groovy dance sequence, fits the Space Groove theme perfectly. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, which is standard for an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP. Model changes are solid though. The headpiece especially goes hard with the space-funk aesthetic.

The Space Groove line and release context

Space Groove Lissandra dropped November 17, 2022. Late season 12. Jeremy Chong and West Studio handled the artwork, and they captured Lissandra’s silhouette while making it feel completely fresh. The Space Groove skinline is one of Riot’s more creative thematic pushes. Started back in 2021 with Nasus and Blitz and Crank, then expanded. Lissandra fits the vibe naturally because her animations already have this flowing quality that translates well into the disco fantasy.

8 chromas total for this one. Obsidian is my go-to because it darkens everything down and gives the skin an almost villain-at-the-disco energy. Rainbow is the flashy pick if you want maximum visual noise in your games. Rose Quartz hits a softer pastel angle that I think reads the cleanest against Summoner’s Rift green. The rest are fine but those three stand out. (Random aside: the Obsidian chroma on this skin has been my lock-in screen background for months.)

Space Groove as a line sits in that sweet spot where its not tryhard edgy and not full meme either. Lissandra specifically benefits because her default fantasy is cold and serious. Putting her in a groove context gives mains something completely different to rotate through without feeling like a joke pick.

Is Space Groove Lissandra worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: if you play Lissandra with any regularity, this is a strong pickup. The VFX alone justify the price. Been maining Lissandra with this skin on and off since it released and I keep coming back to it over Coven and Program. Could be wrong here but I think the particle clarity actually helps in teamfights. You can track your W zone and R radius better with the bright colors compared to the icy base effects.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New model, full VFX, new recall. Shop has it, so no vault nonsense to deal with. Might be overthinking it but Space Groove Lissandra might be the best Epic she has. Coven is the popular choice and Dark Cosmic goes harder on the fantasy angle, sure. But for clean in-game readability and a skin that doesnt get old after 50 games? Space Groove. Top pick for Lissandra mains who want something that pops without going full Legendary price. Played maybe 200 games with this across season 13 and 14 and the VFX still hit different every time I engage with R in a five-man teamfight.
