Astronaut Teemo

First time I saw Astronaut Teemo loading in, I thought it was a custom skin someone modded in. Little guy in a full space suit bouncing around top lane planting mushrooms on the moon or whatever. Been running this skin since around season 3 I think, and honestly its one of those skins that just never gets old. The novelty factor alone carries it hard.

What Astronaut Teemo actually changes

So the VFX on this one got a proper update. His Q fires off with this space-themed particle trail that reads cleaner than base Teemo by a mile. Not gonna lie, the auto attacks feel snappier too, though thats probably placebo. The poison tick from E has this faint cosmic glow to it. Subtle change – huge impact on how the lane phase looks when you’re poking someone down.

The shrooms are where it gets good. W just speeds him up with a little rocket boost animation. But R? The mushrooms look like little space mines. Alien tech scattered across the Rift. Had a game last Wednesday where I placed maybe 40 of these things around dragon pit and baron, and the enemy Kayn walked into three in a row. Watching those space mines chain-proc was genuinely funny.

The recall animation is clean. Teemo plants a flag on the ground like he’s claiming the Rift for NASA or something. Quick salute. Done. No new voice lines, voice stays default. Kinda feels like they could have added a radio filter to make it sound like comms through a helmet, but this was 2010. Different era for skin quality.

Might be overthinking it but the idle animations hit different in the space suit. When Teemo goes invisible with his passive, the astronaut helmet makes it feel more like active camouflage than just standing still. Small detail. Matters to me though.

The Astronauts line and release context

Astronaut Teemo dropped October 27, 2010. Early days. Season 1 territory. The Astronauts skinline has grown a lot since then with champions like Corki, Bard, Veigar, and Poppy getting the space treatment. Teemo was one of the originals though. Pioneer status.

Kudos Productions handled the splash art. They captured the vibe perfectly, Teemo floating in low orbit with that determined little face behind the visor. (Random aside: this splash was my desktop background for like two years in college and nobody questioned it.)

The Astronauts line is one of Riot’s more wholesome themes. No edgy lore, no corruption arcs. Just champions in space suits doing champion things. Teemo fits it naturally because he’s already a scout, already does recon. Putting him in an astronaut suit is just the logical next step for his character fantasy.

One chroma available. Chrono variant shifts the color palette to a deep navy blue with red accents. Sharp look, gives him a more militaristic space ranger feel compared to the standard white suit. Worth grabbing if you want variety but I keep coming back to the base Astronaut colors honestly.

Is 1350 RP fair for Astronaut Teemo?

Real verdict: this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP and it earns that price tag. You get new VFX across the kit, a solid recall, and a theme that actually works for the champion. No VO refresh but at this price point thats expected. Shop has it permanently so no rush.

Been daily driving this in Diamond for splitpush Teemo games specifically. The shroom visuals are clearer for me to track than base, which matters when you’re playing the map and need to remember where you planted what. Could be coping but I genuinely think the space mine design reads better at a glance than the default mushrooms.

Compared to something like Beemo or Little Devil Teemo, Astronaut takes itself a bit more seriously. Not tryhard serious, but it’s not memeing either. If you main Teemo and want a skin that looks good without being a joke pick, this is the one. Spammed this for maybe 50 ranked games last month in bot lane specifically and got compliments on it twice. That never happens with Teemo skins, people usually just flame you for picking the champion at all.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Top pick for Teemo mains who want clean visuals over comedy. Skip it if you already own Omega Squad though, that one edges it out on pure feature count. But for the space fantasy? Nothing else comes close on the Teemo roster.
