Omega Squad Teemo

First time I saw Omega Squad Teemo load into my game I actually thought Riot dropped a different champion. Not even joking. The little guy went from cute yordle scout to full-on war veteran and it wasnt subtle about it. Been running this skin since season 5 and honestly it still holds up against skins that came out years later. There’s a reason you see this one constantly in Diamond lobbies, Teemo mains lock it in like its required.

What Omega Squad actually changes on Teemo

This is a Legendary skin and it earns that tag. Full new model, Teemo looks like he crawled out of a Vietnam War movie. Military helmet, combat gear, the whole nine yards. His expression is different too. Gone is the happy scout energy. This Teemo has seen things.

The Q, Blinding Dart, fires with a new projectile that has this militaristic tracer effect. Feels snappier visually even though the hitbox is obviously identical. His W, Move Quick, gets a subtle dust kick-up that reads well on the Rift. Could be wrong here but I think the movement animation itself changes slightly when you activate it, more of a tactical sprint than a jog.

E passive, Toxic Shot, is where things get interesting. The poison ticks show with a different particle, more like chemical warfare than cute mushroom toxin. Fits the theme perfectly. And then R, the shrooms. Noxious Trap plants actual military mines instead of mushrooms. The explosion VFX is genuinely satisfying. Played maybe 200 games with this skin and watching someone walk into a mine in river brush at 2 AM on a Tuesday never gets old.

New recall animation has Teemo pulling out a radio and calling in some kind of extraction. Small detail but it sells the fantasy. The idle animations are different too. He does this thousand-yard stare thing. Genuinely unsettling on a yordle.

Biggest selling point though: full new voice over. Melissa Hutchison voices this version and she absolutely killed it. The voice lines are darker, grittier. Teemo talks about fallen squadmates, the cost of war. Real talk though, hearing a yordle deliver lines about survival and sacrifice is both hilarious and weirdly compelling. The VO alone justifies this being a Legendary. Standard Teemo voice lines are fun but Omega Squad operates on a completely different level.

The Omega Squad line and release context

Omega Squad Teemo dropped April 8, 2015. Season 5 era. Alvin Lee nailed the splash, captured that war-torn energy with Teemo standing in what looks like a battlefield graveyard of yordle helmets. Heavy stuff for a League splash art.

The Omega Squad skinline later expanded to include Veigar, Tristana, Twitch, and Fizz. Teemo was the original though, the one that proved the concept worked. Kinda feels like the rest of the squad exists because this skin sold so well. The skinline takes the cute yordle characters and military types and drops them into this band-of-brothers narrative. Teemo fits it the most naturally because of his Scout background in base lore.

3 chromas available for Omega Squad Teemo. Pearl gives him this arctic ops look with white and light blue tones, clean for winter map vibes. Sandstone shifts everything to desert camo territory, probably my favorite of the three for readability. Obsidian goes full dark ops, basically a night mission variant. Not gonna lie, Obsidian looks sick but it can blend into darker areas of the map which is either a pro or a con depending on how you feel about your Teemo being even harder to spot.

Permanent shop availability. Still in the shop at 1820 RP, full Legendary price. Been there since 2015 and I dont see it leaving.

How Omega Squad plays in actual games

Spammed this in Diamond for two straight seasons. Season 9 I think or 10 dont remember. The military mine VFX on R actually helped me track shroom placements better than base skin. Something about the distinct visual made it easier to remember where I planted them during lane phase. Might be overthinking it but multiple Teemo mains I’ve talked to say the same thing.

Sound design matters more than people think on Teemo. The Q sound on Omega Squad has a sharper audio cue that helps with trading patterns in top lane. You proc the blind, hear the confirmation, and immediately know your trade window. In teamfights the mine explosions cut through the audio clutter better than mushroom pops. Small edges but they add up when you’re trying to peel for your ADC or zone the backline.

One thing I noticed around 30 games in: the auto attack animation feels slightly different. Not faster, the attack speed is obviously unchanged, but the wind-up visual reads cleaner. Been daily driving this over Little Devil and Beemo specifically because of how the autos feel. That ranked game where my Kayn inted 0/7 and I still carried with shroom damage in bot lane specifically? Omega Squad Teemo. The mines do work.

Should you buy Omega Squad Teemo?

Verdict time. 1820 RP well spent for mains. Full stop. New model, new VFX on every ability, new recall, and a complete voice over that transforms Teemo’s personality. For a skin from 2015 it competes with Legendaries released in 2024. The VO gives it longevity that pure visual skins lack.

If you’re not a Teemo player, this probably wont convert you. But if you main the little guy or even just have him in rotation for top lane counterpicks, Omega Squad is arguably the best Teemo skin. Spirit Blossom and Beemo are great but they lean into the cute angle. Omega Squad goes the opposite direction and commits fully. Top pick for Teemo mains who want something with actual weight to it. Three chromas give you options if the base green military look gets stale. Skip if you only play Teemo in ARAMs once a month, but for anyone putting real games on this champion, this is the one.
