Omega Squad Twitch

First time I saw Omega Squad Twitch in a loading screen I thought someone modded the game. The rat in full tactical gear with night vision goggles strapped to his head, holding what looks like a modified crossbow that could pass for actual military hardware. Been running this skin since it dropped in 2017 and honestly its one of those skins that just feels right on Twitch. Like Riot looked at the Plague Rat and said “what if he was a Vietnam War vet” and somehow it works.

What Omega Squad actually changes on Twitch

This is an Epic tier skin so you get new VFX and a new recall but no new voice lines. Voice stays default. The visual overhaul is solid though. Twitch trades his sewer rat aesthetic for full military camo, complete with a tactical vest, helmet, and those signature green night vision goggles that flip up during certain animations.

The Q stealth shimmer has this military green tint to it now. Subtle change but it reads differently on the Rift. His W Venom Cask throws what looks like a military smoke grenade instead of the usual flask, and the poison trail from his passive gets this chemical warfare vibe. Could be wrong here but I think the E Contaminate particles also shifted to match the military palette, more industrial green than purple.

Recall animation is where it shines. Twitch pulls out a walkie-talkie, tries to radio for extraction, gets frustrated. Classic Omega Squad humor. The whole Omega Squad line leans into this “animals who survived too many tours” thing and Twitch sells it perfectly. His hunched posture and twitchy movements already look like PTSD, so the military theme lands harder than it probably should.

Auto attacks feel crisp with the new bolt visuals. Played maybe 200 games with this skin in Diamond and the bolts have a slightly different trajectory read that I swear helps with cs timing. Placebo? Probably. But I’ll take it.

The Omega Squad line and where Twitch fits

Omega Squad released July 26, 2017. Mid-season 7. Rudy Siswanto nailed the splash, Twitch crouching in tall grass with his crossbow aimed, looking like a proper sniper. The composition captures the predatory ADC fantasy better than most Twitch splashes (random aside: this splash was my desktop background for like three months straight).

The Omega Squad skinline started with Teemo back in 2015 and expanded into a full squad. Twitch joined alongside Veigar, Fizz, and Tristana in that 2017 wave. The whole concept is Yordle and small-creature champions reimagined as battle-hardened soldiers. Twitch isnt a Yordle but his size and vibe fit the squad naturally.

Omega Squad is one of Riot’s more cohesive thematic lines. Every skin in the set shares the military green palette and worn-out gear aesthetic. Twitch specifically looks like the squad’s designated marksman, which tracks perfectly with his ADC role. Real talk though, in a teamfight with the full Omega Squad comp loaded in, it actually looks coordinated. Seen it maybe twice in my games all season but when it happens the loading screen goes hard.

Chromas and pricing

3 chromas available for Omega Squad Twitch. Pearl gives him this arctic ops white-and-teal look that reads clean against darker Rift backgrounds. Obsidian goes full blackout tactical, probably my favorite of the three. Sandstone shifts to a desert camo that fits if you’re tired of the jungle green. Not gonna lie, Obsidian Twitch crouching in a bush during a late-game flank hits different than base.

1350 RP for the skin itself. Standard Epic pricing. Shop has it, permanent availability so no rush. For what you get – new model, new VFX, new recall – 1350 feels fair for what you get. Compare it to something like SSW Twitch which is basically a recolor at 750 RP, and the value gap is obvious. You’re paying for the full package here.

Should you buy Omega Squad Twitch?

Verdict time. If you main Twitch and play him as an ADC or jungle rat (been seeing more Twitch jungle in my Diamond games around last Tuesday, the assassin build is back apparently), this skin earns its spot in your rotation. The military theme gives Twitch a personality beyond “sewer creature” without losing what makes him fun. Kinda feels like Riot designed Omega Squad specifically for the Twitch players who take the “ambush predator” playstyle seriously.

Best alternatives are Ice King if you want Legendary treatment with new VO, or Dragonslayer for the fantasy angle. But Omega Squad sits in that sweet spot of strong theme, clean VFX, and reasonable price. Worth 1350 if you main Twitch. I keep coming back to this one even after picking up newer options. The military rat just works. Hard to argue against that.
