Not gonna lie, when Riot dropped a Dragonslayer skin for Twitch I thought they were trolling. A plague rat in dragon armor? Sounds goofy on paper. But I locked it in for a ranked game around 1 AM on release night and the thing just works. Dragonslayer Twitch takes this gross little sewer creature and gives him actual presence on the Rift. Been running this as my default Twitch skin since season 11 and I keep coming back to it even after trying newer options.

What Dragonslayer Twitch actually changes

The model rework here is solid for an Epic tier skin. Twitch gets full dragon-scale armor plating, a crossbow that looks like it was carved from a dragon’s fang, and these small horn-like protrusions on his hood. The color palette shifts to deep reds and golds which honestly makes him look way more threatening than a rat has any right to look.

VFX got the full treatment. His Q stealth shimmer has this fiery orange tint to it now. Played maybe 40 games before I even noticed that detail, but once you see it you cant unsee it. W cask throws out a dragon-fire pool instead of the usual green goop. Feels cleaner to read in teamfights, which matters when you’re trying to peel for yourself in the backline as ADC.

The big showpiece is his R – Spray and Pray. The bolts trail fire particles across the screen. In a late-game teamfight where you pop ult from stealth and hit 3-4 targets, the visual feedback is genuinely satisfying. Could be wrong here but I think the auto attack sounds have a slightly deeper thud too, like each bolt carries more weight. Base voice lines though. No new VO, which is expected at 1350 RP.

Recall animation shows Twitch pulling a dragon tooth from the ground and holding it up like a trophy. Short and clean. Nothing crazy but it fits the fantasy.

The Dragon World skinline and release context

Dragonslayer Twitch dropped April 15, 2021. Mid season 11. West Studio handled the artwork, and they nailed the composition – Twitch standing over what looks like a fallen dragon corpse with fire in the background. The splash reads well as a thumbnail too which matters more than people think.

The Dragon World line is one of Riot’s older thematic families. Dragonslayer Twitch fits alongside skins like Dragonslayer Vayne, Dragonslayer Pantheon, Dragonslayer Diana. The theme works better on some champions than others. On Twitch specifically, the contrast between his scrawny rat body and this heavy dragon-hunter gear creates a funny visual tension that I think adds character. (Random aside: my duo partner calls this skin “dragon Ratatouille” and I hate that he’s not wrong.)

8 chromas total for this one. Obsidian is my pick – the dark black and grey color scheme makes Twitch look like he crawled out of a volcano. Sapphire flips the palette to cold blue dragon-ice vibes, reads nicely against the default Summoner’s Rift greens. Pearl exists for the clean white aesthetic crowd but I think it looks a bit washed out in actual gameplay. The rest are there if you want variety but those three stand out to me.

Is 1350 RP worth it for Twitch mains?

Real verdict: Dragonslayer Twitch sits in the upper half of Twitch’s skin catalog. It’s competing against stuff like Omega Squad Twitch and Ice King Twitch for the “default ranked skin” slot. Omega Squad has the military aesthetic and unique VO filter going for it. Ice King Twitch went Legendary with full voice work. Dragonslayer doesnt match those in raw feature count but the visual package is tighter than most Epic skins I’ve seen on ADCs.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on every ability, clean recall, strong splash, and 8 chromas if you want to mix things up. Still in the shop, permanent availability. Kinda feels like this skin flew under the radar because Twitch isn’t exactly a popular pick in pro play or high elo. Season 12 and 13 I barely saw other Twitch players in my Diamond games, maybe one every 15-20 matches. But the few Twitch one-tricks I’ve run into were almost always on either this or Omega Squad.

If you main Twitch or you’re picking him up for the ADC pool, Dragonslayer is the best bang-for-buck option. Skip it if you already own Ice King since that Legendary covers more ground. But for 1350? Solid purchase. Been daily driving this thing for years at this point and the novelty hasnt worn off. Top pick for Twitch mains who want something with edge without dropping Legendary prices.
