Prestige Ascended Pantheon

First time I saw Prestige Ascended Pantheon load into my game I thought someone modded their client. The white and gold VFX against the base Rift colors just hit completely different from any other Pantheon skin I’d used before. Been maining Pantheon on and off since season 8, and this one stopped me from rotating skins for a solid three months straight.

What the Prestige version actually brings

So the base Ruined Pantheon already had the corrupted aesthetic going, right. Prestige Ascended flips that entire concept. Instead of the dark Ruination energy you get this radiant divine warrior look. White armor with gold accents, the kind of color scheme that makes you feel like youre playing some endgame boss character rather than a toplaner who just finished Eclipe.

The VFX overhaul is real. Q thrust and charged Q both leave these gold particle trails that read cleanly in lane. Not sure if it’s just me but the charged Q feels more satisfying to land with this skin, something about the golden spear energy on impact. W leap gets the prestige treatment too. Gold burst on landing, clean circle indicator. Feels weighty.

E is where it gets interesting. The shield wall effect has this luminous white-gold barrier that actually looks divine rather than corrupted. In teamfights when you’re peeling for your ADC or diving the backline, the E shield reads really well against ability spam. Had a game last week around midnight where I blocked a full Syndra combo and my duo literally said “that looked cinematic.” Fair point honestly.

R is the highlight. Grand Starfall. The channel animation has Pantheon wreathed in gold light before he drops. The landing zone indicator shifts to match the prestige palette. When you ult into a teamfight from fog, the gold impact circle against the Rift ground is genuinely one of the cleanest ult visuals on any skin in the game. Period.

New recall animation carries the ascended theme. Pantheon plants his spear and channels divine energy. Short and clean, no filler. Voice lines stay base though, no new VO. George Georgiou’s original performance works fine here so I dont mind that much.

The Ruined line and how Prestige fits

Prestige Ascended Pantheon dropped July 8, 2021. Right in the middle of the Ruination event, season 11. The whole Ruined skinline was Riot’s big lore push that summer with Viego corrupting champions across Runeterra. Pantheon’s story specifically made sense because of the Aspect lore. Atreus rejecting divine power, then ascending on his own terms. The prestige version leans into that ascension hard.

Yan Kyohara and West Studio handled the artwork. They captured the vibe perfectly. The splash has Pantheon mid-leap with gold energy radiating off the spear, white cape flowing. (Random aside: this splash rotated as my desktop wallpaper for like six months before I swapped it for the Ashen Conqueror one.)

This is a Mythic tier skin with Special pricing. You couldn’t just buy it outright with RP. Back in 2021 it came through the Sentinels event pass grind. Real talk though, the grind was worth it if you played enough ranked that patch cycle. I remember spamming games that weekend trying to finish the token track before reset.

Available now through Mythic Essence rotation. Shop has it when it cycles in. No chromas on this one, which makes sense for a Prestige skin. The gold and white IS the variant.

How it compares in the Pantheon lineup

Pantheon has some solid options. Dragonslayer is the classic pick for a lot of mains. Pulsefire went sci-fi. Ashen Conqueror is the newer Legendary contender. But Prestige Ascended occupies this specific niche where it’s the cleanest looking Pantheon skin without going over the top.

Kinda feels like Riot nailed the balance between flashy and readable here. Some prestige skins miss that mark. They just slap gold on everything and call it done. This one actually redesigned the silhouette enough that it feels distinct. The white armor reads differently from every other Pantheon skin in champ select. You know exactly which skin someone locked in.

For ranked specifically, the VFX clarity is above average. Been running this in Diamond games and the Q indicator, E shield, and R landing zone all communicate clearly to both teams. No visual noise complaints from me across maybe 150 games with it. Some skins give you a gameplay readability disadvantage and this isnt one of them.

The honest take

Should you grab Prestige Ascended Pantheon? If you play Pantheon regularly, absolutely. S-tier Pantheon cosmetic. The divine warrior fantasy hits harder than the corrupted Ruined base version, the VFX are crisp, and the splash is top shelf work from Yan Kyohara and West Studio.

Might be overthinking it but I think this skin ages better than most prestige skins from 2021. The white and gold palette doesn’t rely on a specific theme trend. It just looks like an elevated version of Pantheon’s core identity as an Aspect-level warrior. Could be wrong here but I’d rank it second only to Ashen Conqueror in the full Pantheon catalog, and even then it’s close depending on whether you prefer the divine or dark aesthetic.

Only real downside: no new voice lines. At Mythic tier that stings slightly. But the VFX, recall, and model quality carry enough weight. Worth the Mythic Essence if you main Pantheon. Lock it in next time it rotates through the shop, been daily driving this one and I keep coming back to it over everything else in the lineup.
