Dragonslayer Pantheon

Not gonna lie, the first time I saw Dragonslayer Pantheon load into my game I thought it was a Legendary. The armor design is that clean. Been running this skin on and off since season 7 and it still holds up against skins that came out years later. Something about Pantheon covered in dragon-forged plate just clicks harder than most of his catalog.

What Dragonslayer Pantheon actually brings

The VFX rework on this one carries. Your Q throws a spear that trails fire particles, and it reads beautifully in lane when you’re poking before committing to an all-in. W stun impact has this burst of orange flame on contact. Looks aggressive. Feels aggressive. The kind of visual feedback that makes you want to keep diving the backline.

E shield wall gets a dragon-scale overlay with embers floating off it. Played maybe 150 games with this skin and I still notice the E detail in teamfights. Could be wrong here but I think the particle density on E is actually higher than some newer Epic skins get. R is where it peaks though. Grand Starfall with the Dragonslayer VFX turns your ult into this fiery comet that looks like a dragon descending on the Rift. Hard to describe how satisfying it is to channel R from fog and watch the enemy bot lane panic.

Recall animation is custom too. Pantheon plants his spear and kneels like hes praying to whatever dragon god forged the armor. Short, clean, no fluff. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but George Georgiou’s delivery on base Pantheon is strong enough that it doesnt feel like a miss.

The Dragon World line and where this fits

Released May 14, 2014. Season 4 era. Alex ‘alexplank’ Flores nailed the splash, the composition with Pantheon mid-leap over a dragon’s jaw is one of the better action splashes in the game. (Random aside: this splash was my desktop wallpaper for like two months back in 2019.)

Dragon World skinline is one of Riot’s longest running themes. Dragonslayer Pantheon fits it naturally because the champion fantasy already leans into mythic warrior territory. Compare it to something like Dragonslayer Braum or Dragonslayer Vayne and Pantheon’s version just reads more authentic to the theme. The armor silhouette, the spear, the shield. Everything aligns.

7 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian is my pick, turns the whole color scheme dark and it reads cleanly against Summoner’s Rift backgrounds. Amethyst shifts the palette into purple territory which hits a mage-knight vibe that I think works better than it should on Pantheon. Pearl is the safe bet if you want something lighter. Rest are fine but those three stood out across my games this season.

Is 1350 RP fair for Dragonslayer Pantheon?

Real verdict: this is one of the better Epic tier purchases you can make on Pantheon. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. Custom VFX on every ability, a solid recall, chromas for days. Shop has it permanently so no vault anxiety.

The competition in Pantheon’s skin catalog is real though. Pulsefire exists. Ashen Conqueror exists. But Dragonslayer Pantheon hits a specific fantasy that neither of those touch. If you main Pantheon and you like the dragon-hunter aesthetic over sci-fi or dark knight themes, this is the one. Spammed this in Diamond last Tuesday night for like six games straight and every single one felt clean.

Might be overthinking it but I think this skin actually makes your engage patterns feel more impactful because of the fire VFX on W. Placebo or not, when I lock in Dragonslayer I play more aggressive in lane. Three things stood out after years of use: ult VFX, recall animation, Obsidian chroma. Worth 1350 if you main Pantheon. S-tier Pantheon cosmetic for the price bracket, and I dont see that changing anytime soon.
