First game I played with Baker Pantheon I almost forgot to cs because I kept staring at the recall animation. Pantheon slamming dough with the same intensity he slams his spear into the backline. Thats the energy this skin brings. Riot took one of the most aggressive champions on the Rift and gave him an apron and a rolling pin, and somehow it works better than it has any right to.

What Baker Pantheon actually changes

So this is a 975 RP Standard tier skin, which means you’re not getting a full overhaul. No new voice lines, voice stays default. But what you do get is surprisingly solid for the price point. The model swap is the star here: Pantheon trades his Spartan armor for a full baker outfit complete with chef hat, apron, and a baguette shield. Yeah. A baguette. The shield bash animations with a loaf of bread never get old, been running this in Diamond for months and it still gets reactions in all chat.

The new VFX add flour dust effects to his abilities. His W stun leaves a puff of white powder on impact, and his E shield wall looks like he’s blocking with pastry. Not sure if it’s just me but the Q spear throw feels more satisfying with the slight visual tweaks. Could be placebo. The recall animation is where Riot really put in the work though. Pantheon kneads dough, shapes it, then slams it into a brick oven. Clean loop, good timing. For a skin at this price point the recall alone carries it.

No new animations on the basic attacks beyond the model swap, which is expected. Standard voice, no new lines. The silhouette reads clearly in teamfights which matters more than people think. Had a game last Thursday where I was diving their ADC under tower and my support actually thought I was a different champion for a second because of the outfit. Worth it just for that confusion factor honestly.

The Culinary Masters line and release context

Baker Pantheon dropped September 7, 2016. Part of the Culinary Masters skinline alongside other food-themed skins like Barbecue Leona and Sashimi Akali. Jojo So did the splash, they captured the vibe perfectly. Pantheon standing proud with his baguette shield and rolling pin, flour everywhere, looking like he’s about to peel for his team with a croissant.

The Culinary Masters line is one of those joke skinlines that Riot nails when they commit to the bit. Pantheon fits it naturally because his whole kit revolves around his shield, and replacing that shield with bread is peak comedy without being obnoxious. No chromas on this one, which is a shame. Would have killed for a burnt toast variant or something with darker bread tones.

975 RP puts it in that sweet spot where you’re getting more than a texture swap but less than a full 1350 experience. The VFX additions and recall animation push it above what you’d normally expect at this tier. Sits in the shop permanently so no rush to grab it. (Random aside: this splash has been my Discord avatar for like two years and nobody has ever commented on it, which says something about my friend group.)

Should you lock in Baker Pantheon?

Real verdict: this is one of the best joke skins in the game. Not the flashiest Pantheon skin, not by a long shot. Pulsefire and Dragonslayer exist for the serious crowd. But if you main Pantheon and want something that makes lane phase more fun, Baker is the pick. Been spamming this in ranked since season 9 I think or 10 dont remember, and it still holds up. The baguette shield alone is S-tier cosmetic design.

Might be overthinking it but I think joke skins actually tilt opponents more than serious ones. Something about getting ganked by a man in a chef hat and dying to a bread shield just hits different. 975 RP feels fair for what you get. The lack of chromas hurts but the base skin is strong enough to stand on its own. Skip it if you only care about competitive aesthetics and want the cleanest VFX. Lock it in if you’re a Pantheon one-trick who wants to have fun while climbing. Top pick for Pantheon mains who dont take themselves too seriously. Shop has it whenever you’re ready.
