Blood Moon Sivir

First time I saw Blood Moon Sivir load in, the splash alone sold me. Horace ‘Hozure’ Hsu nailed the splash on this one. The red and white demon mask, the ritualistic blade – it reads clean even as a thumbnail in champ select. Been running this as my go-to Sivir skin since season 9 I think, and honestly the aesthetic just doesnt get old.

What Blood Moon changes on Sivir

So this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, and you get what you’d expect from that bracket. New model, new VFX across the board, new recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no VO refresh. The boomerang blade got redesigned into this curved ceremonial weapon that fits the Blood Moon theme perfectly. Looks sharp.

The Q particles are the standout. When you throw it out in lane, there’s this deep crimson trail with cherry blossom petals scattering behind the blade. Might be overthinking it but the return animation on Q actually feels more readable than base Sivir, which helps when you’re trying to cs and trade at the same time. The W ricochet bounces carry that same red energy, and in a teamfight with three or four bounces going it looks chaotic in the best way.

E spell shield pops up as this blood-red barrier with Japanese-style markings. Real talk though, the visual clarity on the shield is better than most Sivir skins. You can actually tell when it’s active during a messy engage. R gives Sivir and nearby allies that movement speed boost with red wisps trailing behind everyone. Not the flashiest ult VFX but it fits.

The recall is where Riot put in extra work. Sivir performs this ritual dance with her blade, summoning Blood Moon energy before the port back. Played maybe 150 games with this skin across two seasons and I still watch the full recall sometimes. Small thing but it matters.

The Blood Moon line and release context

Blood Moon Sivir dropped January 10, 2019. Late into season 9’s opening. The Blood Moon skinline is one of Riot’s longest-running thematic lines and Sivir fits it naturally. The whole concept of Ionian demon masks and ritualistic warriors works well on a champion who’s essentially a mercenary with a giant blade.

Kinda feels like Sivir was overdue for a Blood Moon skin by the time this released. Champions like Thresh, Kalista, and Akali had already gotten theirs. Sivir’s kit translates well to the theme though – the boomerang blade as a ceremonial weapon, the spell shield as a spiritual barrier. It all connects without feeling forced.

7 chromas available for this skin. Obsidian is my personal pick – the dark black and gold colorway turns the whole skin into something that reads almost Prestige-tier. Sapphire shifts everything to a cool blue that honestly clashes with the Blood Moon vibe but looks clean on its own. Rose Quartz goes pink and its a solid alternative if you want something softer. The rest – Emerald, Citrine, Turquoise, Ruby – are fine but I keep coming back to Obsidian. (Random aside: Obsidian Blood Moon Sivir has been my phone lock screen for like two months now.)

How Blood Moon stacks against other Sivir skins

Sivir has a decent skin catalog at this point. Pizza Delivery is the meme pick. Odyssey goes sci-fi. Solar Eclipse is the newer premium option. But Blood Moon Sivir sits in this sweet spot where the theme is serious without being generic.

Not gonna lie, if you’re an ADC main who plays Sivir in ranked, this is probably your best value at 1350 RP. The VFX changes are meaningful without being distracting. Last Tuesday I had a game where I was pushing bot lane prio against a Caitlyn and the Q particles genuinely helped me track the blade through a minion wave. Could be coping but I swear readability matters on Sivir more than most marksmen.

For the price, Blood Moon Sivir earns it. Shop has it permanently, so no vault anxiety. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get – model, VFX, recall, plus the chroma options if you want variety. Not the flashiest Epic in the game but one of the more consistent ones. Top pick for Sivir mains who want something with personality that won’t distract from actually playing the game. Been spamming this in Diamond and I have zero complaints three years in.
