Blood Moon Evelynn

First time I saw Blood Moon Evelynn load in, season 8 ranked around midnight, I thought someone was running a custom skin. The red and white oni aesthetic hits so different on a champion designed around stealth and assassination. Been running this as my secondary Evelynn skin for a while now and honestly not gonna lie, it punches above its weight class for a 975 RP skin.

What Blood Moon actually changes on Evelynn

So the model swap goes full demon priestess. Evelynn’s lashers get this deep crimson treatment with white accents that feel ritualistic. The mask is the standout piece. Riot leaned into the Blood Moon fantasy hard here, and it works because Evelynn’s silhouette already reads as predatory. Adding the oni mask just makes her look like she belongs in the skinline more than half the champions they picked for it.

VFX got a refresh for the 975 tier. Her Q procs leave red particle trails, and the W charm buildup has this subtle blood-red pulse that I think actually reads cleaner than base in teamfights. Not a massive overhaul but enough that you notice it every game. Could be wrong here but the E empowered hit feels more satisfying with the red burst. Placebo maybe. The recall animation is new too, Evelynn does this ritual dance thing with the mask. Clean stuff.

Voice lines stay base. No VO refresh on this one. For 975 RP thats expected, and Mara Junot’s base Evelynn voice carries enough personality that I dont mind. The base kit voice works with the Blood Moon theme anyway since half her lines are about seduction and destruction.

The Blood Moon line and where Evelynn fits

Released May 8, 2018. Late into season 8. Esben Lash Rasmussen nailed the splash, the composition with Evelynn emerging from shadow with that mask pulled slightly to the side is one of the better Blood Moon splashes period. (Random aside: this splash was my Discord avatar for like three months straight.)

Blood Moon as a skinline is massive. Dozens of champions, varying quality. Evelynn slots in naturally because the whole theme is about Ionian demons and blood rituals, and her kit fantasy is literally a demon who hunts from invisibility. Some Blood Moon skins feel forced. This one doesnt. The thematic overlap between Evelynn’s lore and the skinline concept means everything clicks without Riot having to stretch the design.

Is 975 RP fair for Blood Moon Evelynn?

Real verdict: if you main Evelynn and want something darker than K/DA but cheaper than Coven, Blood Moon is the pick. Played maybe 40 games with this last Tuesday through the weekend and it held up. The VFX changes are subtle but present, the model is distinct, and the recall is a nice bonus for a Standard tier skin.

975 RP feels fair for what you get. Not gonna blow your mind like a Legendary would, but for Evelynn mains who rotate skins between ranked sessions, this belongs in the collection. I keep coming back to this one specifically when I’m jungling in Diamond and want the cleaner red particles during ganking sequences around dragon pit. Skip it if you already own Coven or K/DA All Out, those are objectively better packages. But for the price? Blood Moon Evelynn earns its spot.
