Neo PAX Sivir

The original PAX Sivir was a convention exclusive from 2011 that became one of the rarest skins in League. Neo PAX Sivir is Riot’s answer to that rarity problem. Released August 30, 2017 as a remade version that keeps the PAX aesthetic but is obtainable through the Mythic system instead of requiring a physical convention code from over a decade ago. Smart move on Riot’s part.

Retro-futuristic Sivir

The model gives Sivir a blue and gold tech aesthetic inspired by the original PAX design but updated to modern League visual standards. The boomerang blade has tech-enhanced edges with blue energy lines. No splash artist credited in the data but the model itself captures the PAX convention energy. Blue energy effects, clean lines, a design that says “I was at a thing” even if you werent actually at a thing.

Boomerang Blade on Q throws the tech boomerang with blue energy trails on both the outbound throw and the return. Ricochet on W activates bouncing attacks with blue particle effects on each bounce. The bounce chain visual is slightly more distinct than base which helps track how many targets you are hitting in a wave. Spell Shield on E activates with a blue tech barrier. On The Hunt on R boosts movement speed with a blue aura trail that follows Sivir and nearby allies. Using R to engage or disengage with the team has this visible blue wave effect.

No new voice lines. Alexa Kahn’s Sivir voice applies. No new recall either since this is an older Mythic. The VFX updates are the primary selling point alongside the PAX rarity branding. Honestly not gonna lie, the lack of a custom recall is the one thing that dates this skin. Every newer Mythic gets one and going back to the default Sivir recall after using something like Crystalis Motus feels rough. But the in-game VFX during actual fights hold up fine.

Mythic tier and PAX history

Neo PAX Sivir is Mythic tier with Special pricing. Released August 30, 2017. Part of the PAX skinline. No chromas. Available through Mythic shop rotation. The PAX line also includes PAX Twisted Fate and PAX Jax, both of which are among the rarest skins in the game. Neo PAX Sivir is the accessible version of that exclusivity.

Worth the Mythic Essence for Sivir players

Sivir has gotten some decent skins over the years. PROJECT Sivir is a recent Epic with good VFX. Pizza Delivery Sivir is the meme pick. Neo PAX fills the “exclusive collector’s item” role in her catalog without the impossible rarity barrier of original PAX Sivir. Kinda feels like buying a remastered version of a classic album. You know its not the original pressing but it sounds the same and you can actually get it.

If you play Sivir and want something that stands out in loading screen, Neo PAX delivers on that. The blue tech VFX are clean enough for ranked without being distracting. Reasonable Mythic Essence expenditure if Sivir is a regular pick for you. Not the flashiest Mythic option available but the PAX legacy carries weight. Locked in this skin for maybe 40 games last season when I was spamming Sivir ADC during the crit itemization patch and the Q boomerang trail in blue is genuinely easier to track than base which might be placebo but I will take it. (random aside: I met a guy in solo queue with original PAX Sivir and his account was from season 1, felt like seeing a museum piece in the wild) Real talk though, if you are deciding between this and spending Mythic Essence on a newer flashier option, it depends on how much you value the PAX heritage. For collectors its a no-brainer. For purely visual bang-for-your-buck buyers there are probably better Mythic picks in the current rotation.
