Mythmaker Sivir

Locked in Mythmaker Sivir the week it dropped in January 2023 and played maybe 40 games straight before rotating to anything else. Not gonna lie, there’s something about the way the boomerang catches light on this skin that just clicks when you’re farming in lane. Sivir doesnt get a ton of love from Riot these days so when a skin actually delivers, you notice.

What Mythmaker Sivir brings to the Rift

The Mythmaker line pulls from Lunar New Year festival aesthetics, and Sivir fits the theme better than I expected. Red and gold dominate the palette. Her blade got a full redesign into this ornate fan-style weapon that reads cleanly during Q throws, which matters when you’re poking from max range in lane.

New VFX across the board. Q leaves this trailing ribbon effect, red with gold sparks. W bounces carry the same color scheme and the particles on each ricochet feel satisfying to track in a teamfight. E spell shield pops with a circular seal pattern, kinda feels like a warding talisman activating. R gets the biggest glow-up with a burst of red energy that fans out during the movement speed proc. No new voice lines though. Voice stays default, which is fine for an Epic.

The recall animation is clean. Sivir does this ceremonial fan dance before launching the blade skyward. Played a game last Thursday at like 1 AM where my support was AFK and I just kept backing to watch it. Worth.

(Random aside: the splash has been my desktop background since release and my coworkers think its from an anime.)

Mythmaker release and the skinline

Mythmaker Sivir released January 12, 2023. Season 13 start. Alsie Lau and West Studio handled the splash, they cooked on this one. The composition puts Sivir front and center with festival lanterns in the background. Strong piece.

The Mythmaker skinline dropped alongside Mythmaker Irelia and a few others. Riot’s been doing these Lunar New Year themed batches for a while and the Mythmaker set is one of the better ones. Sivir’s design language in the line feels cohesive without being generic.

10 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to because the dark color scheme makes the gold accents pop harder against Summoner’s Rift. Sapphire shifts the whole palette to blue and gold which reads almost like a different skin entirely. Gilded is interesting too, black base with gold trim, very clean for ranked. Could be wrong here but I think Pearl might be the weakest of the bunch, the white washes out the particle effects a bit.

Legacy vault skin. So you cant just grab it whenever. Gotta wait for the vault rotation or get lucky with Hextech crafting. Been seeing maybe 2-3 Mythmaker Sivirs in my Diamond games all season, which tracks with the limited availability.

Is 1350 RP fair for Mythmaker Sivir?

Real verdict: this Epic earns the 1350 RP tag. New VFX, solid recall, strong splash. For Sivir mains specifically, this competes with Pizza Delivery and Odyssey for top slot. Different vibe though. Pizza Delivery is the meme pick, Odyssey goes sci-fi, Mythmaker goes elegant.

Might be overthinking it but Sivir’s kit translates well to skins with strong particle work because so much of her gameplay is visual. Q poke in lane, W bounces in teamfights, R engage. You see the skin constantly. Compare that to a champion where half the abilities are invisible buffs and the skin value drops.

If you main Sivir and you’re spamming ADC in ranked, grab this when it rotates back. 1350 RP well spent for mains. The Obsidian chroma specifically elevates it to S-tier territory. Been daily driving Mythmaker with Obsidian since season 13 and I keep coming back to it over newer releases. Skip it if you already have Odyssey and don’t care about the aesthetic shift, but for the Mythmaker fantasy, Sivir is arguably the best execution in the whole set.
