Been maining Veigar on and off since season 3 and this skin still sits in my collection like a relic from another era. White Mage Veigar flips the whole evil yordle thing on its head. Instead of the dark sorcerer vibe you get this bright white robe situation that honestly looks like Veigar raided a Final Fantasy cosplay bin. Kinda feels like Riot was making a direct nod to classic RPG white mages back when they didnt care about copyright lawyers breathing down their neck.

The white robe treatment

Real talk though, this is a 390 RP skin from 2009. You’re not getting new particles. You’re not getting a fresh recall animation. Voice lines stay base. What you get is a model swap and thats it.

The dark purple and black palette gets replaced with white and gold robes. Clean swap. The hat goes from menacing wizard to something a healer NPC would wear in an old JRPG. His staff changes too, lighter color scheme across the board. Playing this in lane last Tuesday around midnight, my support pinged me three times because they thought I was a different champion for a second. Not even joking.

Since there’s no VFX changes, your Q still fires the same dark energy, your W drops the same dark matter circle, and your R still deletes people with the same purple nuke. The contrast between the white outfit and the dark abilities is actually kind of funny. You’re dressed like a holy priest but you’re one-shotting the backline ADC with 800 AP at 25 minutes. The disconnect works in a weird way.

(random aside: I sometimes run this skin specifically because it confuses people in lower elo games when I duo with friends)

Medieval roots and 2009 vibes

White Mage Veigar dropped December 17, 2009. Season 1 wasn’t even a thing yet. Part of the Medieval skinline, which is one of those early Riot thematic sets that pulled from fantasy RPG tropes. The whole line has that old-school D&D energy.

No chromas available for this one. At 390 RP it sits at the cheapest price point Riot offers. Could be wrong here but I think this might be one of the lowest RP skins still in the shop for Veigar. Shop has it as a permanent option so you can grab it whenever. Not sure if it’s just me but there’s something charming about these ancient skins that the modern 1350 RP ones dont replicate. Less polish, more personality.

Should you pick up White Mage Veigar?

Straight talk: if you’re a Veigar one-trick looking to collect every skin, this is an easy pickup at 390 RP. It costs less than a single chroma for most modern skins. The white robe aesthetic is unique in Veigar’s lineup. Nothing else in his catalog goes this direction.

But if you’re only buying one Veigar skin? Skip this. Final Boss Veigar exists. Elderwood exists. This Standard tier skin cant compete with those for gameplay feel. Been playing maybe 15 games with White Mage this season in Diamond and I keep switching back to Final Boss because the VFX difference is massive when you’re trying to track your own abilities in a teamfight.

For 390 RP though, hard to complain. It’s a nostalgia piece from a time when League was a completely different game. I think Veigar mains who’ve been around since the early seasons appreciate this one more than newer players ever will. Fair price for the package, even if the package is basically just a costume change. Played a ranked game two patches ago where the enemy mid laner complimented the skin in all chat. Season 9 energy, I swear.
