Victorious Sona

Ranked reward skins hit different when they land on a champion you actually play. Been maining Sona on and off since season 7, so when Riot announced Victorious Sona for the end of season 14, I was genuinely hyped. Not gonna lie, the splash alone had me grinding out my last few games to lock in Gold before the cutoff.

What Victorious Sona actually brings

This is a Standard tier skin but it punches above its weight. New VFX across the board. Her Q aura gets this regal blue-gold shimmer that reads clean in teamfights, which matters when you’re trying to track your passive procs during a messy dragon fight. The W heal particles shift to match the Victorious palette and honestly they look better than half her Epic skins.

New recall animation too. Sona summons this ornate pedestal and plays a victory melody on her etwahl. Short and clean. No new voice lines, kept the base VO, but thats fine for what this is.

The model itself goes full ceremonial armor. Blue and gold plating over her usual flowing outfit, crown detail on the headpiece. Kinda feels like they took the Victorious design language from Jarvan IV and Maokai and refined it. The etwahl redesign is the standout piece for me, it looks like something youd see in an actual trophy case. (Random aside: I screenshot the splash loading screen every game just because Santiago Parra and Pandart Studio absolutely cooked on it.)

Playing this in lane, the ability VFX dont clutter your screen which is a real concern for Sona players. You need to see the poke coming from the enemy ADC, not get distracted by your own particles. Simple change – huge impact on readability.

The Victorious line and how you get it

Victorious Sona released October 10, 2024. End of season 14 reward. The Victorious skinline has been running since Jarvan IV back in season 1, and Sona joining that roster feels earned. She’s been a staple support pick across multiple metas and honestly was overdue.

This skin wasnt available for RP. You had to hit Gold or higher in ranked before the season ended. Legacy vault skin now, so if you missed it, you missed it. Hextech only these days if you’re lucky.

9 chromas total, all rank-based. Diamond is my go-to obviously, the purple tones on the armor look premium. Challenger chroma hits that deep blue that just screams “I have no social life and I’m proud of it.” Master chroma with the magenta accent is underrated, most people skip past it but the color contrast on the Rift is sharp. You got your chroma based on your peak rank that season, so each one is basically a flex.

Should you care about Victorious Sona?

Real verdict: if you were Gold+ in season 14 and you play Sona even occasionally, this skin sits comfortably in rotation. Played maybe 80 games with it since it dropped and the VFX clarity alone keeps me coming back over flashier options like Star Guardian or Odyssey.

For Sona mains specifically, this competes with DJ Sona and Immortal Journey for the top spot. Different vibe though. Victorious is understated where those are loud. Could be wrong here but I think the restrained design ages better. Been running this in Diamond ranked last February around midnight and my duo said the skin “looks like it costs money” which is the highest compliment for a free ranked reward.

If you missed the season 14 grind, tough luck. Maybe it shows up in a Hextech roll someday. For those who have it, fair price for the package considering the price was just climbing to Gold. Top pick for Sona mains who want something clean without the sensory overload. The Victorious line earns its spot in my collection, season after season.
