First time I saw Urfwick in a loading screen I had to double-take. Warwick wearing Urf’s corpse like a onesie. Thats dark even by Riot standards. Been running this skin on and off since season 8 and the reactions in lobby chat never get old. Someone always types something about animal cruelty.

What Urfwick actually changes on Warwick

Real talk though, for a Standard tier skin the model work is solid. Warwick gets the full Urf the Manatee outfit draped over him, spatula and all. The manatee suit covers most of his body and the color palette shifts from dark greys and reds to that goofy teal-green. His claws still poke through which sells the whole “wolf in manatee clothing” vibe perfectly.

No new VFX on this one. Voice stays default. You get a custom recall animation where Warwick does this little spatula flip thing, which I think is the highlight honestly. Could be wrong here but it feels like Riot put all the budget into the model and recall then called it a day. Q, W, E, R all look the same as base Warwick particles. In teamfights nobody is going to notice the difference visually when you ult from fog and delete their ADC.

Played maybe 200 games with this across multiple seasons. The silhouette reads differently enough in lane that I’ve had junglers hesitate on ganking, probably just confused about what champion they’re looking at. Small edge. (random aside: my duo partner refuses to play with me when I lock in this skin because he says it tilts him looking at it on the minimap)

The Urf legacy and how to get Urfwick

Released November 8, 2017. Bo ‘chenbowow’ Chen nailed the splash, capturing that weird mix of menacing and ridiculous that makes the skin work. Part of the Urf the Manatee skinline which is one of Riot’s oldest joke lines dating back to the original Urf April Fools event.

Here’s where it gets interesting. The price tag reads 150,000 BE. Not RP. Blue Essence. This skin shows up during the Blue Essence Emporium which Riot runs maybe once or twice a year, season 12 I think was the last reliable one. Shop has it when the Emporium is active. You need to have been hoarding essence for a while to afford this, we’re talking hundreds of champion capsules worth of disenchanting. Back around last Tuesday I checked my BE balance and I’m sitting at 89k. Still not enough.

Zero chromas available. Straight base skin only.

Should you spend 150,000 BE on Urfwick?

Okay, the real question. Honestly not gonna lie, this skin is more about the flex than the quality. You’re not getting Legendary-tier animations or new voice lines. What you’re getting is proof that you’ve played enough League to accumulate an absurd amount of Blue Essence and chose to spend it on Warwick wearing a dead manatee.

For Warwick mains specifically its a conversation starter. Every pre-6 gank with this skin equipped gets a reaction in all chat. The recall is fun. The model is clean for what it is. But if you’re climbing ranked and want the best Warwick skin for competitive clarity, this aint it. The teal color scheme can actually blend into river during dragon fights in a way that base Warwick doesnt.

Worth 150,000 BE if you main Warwick and have the essence to burn. Skip it if you’re still buying champions. Simple choice. Been daily driving this one in Diamond when I want to tilt the enemy botlane in loading screen, and for that specific use case? S-tier Warwick cosmetic. The spatula alone carries it.
