First time I saw this skin loading in was maybe season 3 or 4, cant remember exactly. Some Warwick player on the enemy team locked it in and I spent half the game trying to figure out why the wolf was wearing a grandma outfit. Then it clicked. Big Bad Warwick. The wolf from Little Red Riding Hood. Dressed up in the nightgown, bonnet and all. Genuinely funny concept that Riot pulled off back when the game was still figuring out what it wanted to be.

What you actually get for 520 RP

Real talk though, this is a Standard tier skin from 2010. You’re getting a model swap and that’s about it. No new VFX, no new recall animation, voice lines stay base. The whole appeal is the costume design itself. Warwick in a pink nightgown with a bonnet tied under his chin. Claws still out. Still terrifying. The contrast between the cute outfit and the feral werewolf underneath is what makes it work.

The in-game model reads surprisingly well for something this old. Pink nightgown pops against the Rift, especially in river fights. You can spot this Warwick from a mile away which, kinda feels like a disadvantage when you’re trying to gank bot lane from behind dragon pit. Not sure if it’s just me but the bonnet makes his silhouette look rounder, almost goofy. Had a game last Friday where my duo kept calling me “grandma wolf” every time I ulted their backline. Fair enough honestly.

The splash tells the whole story better than the model does. Max Grecke nailed the splash. Warwick mid-pounce bursting out of the grandmother disguise with Little Red Riding Hood running in the background. Classic fairy tale horror moment. The composition is solid for an early splash, way better than most 2010-era art.

Storybook origins and where to find it

Part of the Storybook skinline. Same thematic as other fairy tale skins Riot experimented with early on. The Storybook line never got huge but Big Bad Warwick is probably the most recognizable entry. Released April 27, 2010. That puts it in the first year of League’s life basically. Pre-rework Warwick too, so the current version carries over the costume onto the updated model which actually looks cleaner than you’d expect.

520 RP pricing. Legacy vault skin though so you cant just grab it whenever. Gotta wait for the vault to open or hope you roll it from Hextech crafting. Been playing Warwick on and off since season 9 I think and I’ve seen maybe five of these in my ranked games total. Its rare enough to get a reaction in champ select.

Should you pick it up?

Straight talk: if you main Warwick and you want something with personality, Big Bad Warwick delivers more character than skins twice its price. No fancy particles, no new VO, just pure concept execution. The grandma disguise on a bloodthirsty jungle predator is comedy that doesn’t get old.

Skip it if you need flashy VFX on your engage. Warwick has better options for that now with PROJECT and Old God. But for the mains who’ve been grinding jungle clear and ganking since the early seasons, this one hits different. (Random aside: I keep this skin in my rotation specifically for when I’m playing norms with friends because the reactions never disappoint.) 520 RP feels fair for what you get, assuming the vault cooperates. Worth the wait if you’re a Warwick one-trick building the collection.
