Striker Ezreal

First time I saw Striker Ezreal in a loading screen I thought someone was trolling. Ezreal in a full soccer kit throwing mystic shots down mid lane. Took me a second. Then I realized this is one of those old school skins from 2010 that just does its thing without trying too hard. Simple concept, clean execution.

What Striker Ezreal actually changes

Real talk though, this is a 520 RP Standard skin from a different era of League. You get a new model and thats about it. Ezreal swaps his explorer getup for a white and blue soccer uniform with cleats, shin guards, the whole kit. No new particles on Q, no fancy W trail, no updated recall animation. Voice lines stay base. His Mystic Shot still looks like Mystic Shot.

The thing that sells it is the model itself. Clean design. The soccer uniform reads well in game even at the zoomed out camera angle, which is more than I can say for some 1350 skins that muddy up at distance. Been running this in ARAM when I get Ezreal and honestly the silhouette holds up. The white jersey pops against the Rift pretty well, especially in river fights around dragon.

Not gonna lie, for a skin with zero VFX changes you still feel different playing it. Could be placebo. Probably is. But something about the sporty look makes me want to kite harder in lane, like I’m playing actual football out there dodging skillshots. Played maybe 15 games with it last month during a late night ranked session around 1 AM and my cs was actually better than usual. Coincidence for sure but I’m counting it.

The Soccer Cup line and where this fits

Striker Ezreal dropped June 24, 2010. Season 1 vibes. Viktor Titov and Grafit Studio handled the artwork, and for the era it holds up fine. Nothing groundbreaking but the splash captures the energy.

Part of the Soccer Cup skinline, which Riot rolls out around World Cup events. You got Striker Ezreal, Striker Lucian, Red Card Katarina, a bunch of goalkeeper skins. The whole set is fun if you’re into football themed cosmetics. Kinda feels like Riot’s version of FIFA ultimate team skins but for champions. (Random aside: my buddy who mains Ezreal refuses to use anything except this skin during World Cup years, been doing it since season 3 I think.)

Legacy vault skin so you cant just grab it whenever. Sits in the vault until Riot decides to bring it back, usually during esports events or special shop rotations. If you want it, either wait for a Legacy sale or hope you roll it from Hextech crafting.

Should you pick up Striker Ezreal?

At 520 RP this is one of the cheapest Ezreal skins you can find. No new VO refresh, no updated abilities, no chromas to chase. Pure model swap from a simpler time. For what it is, the price feels fair. You’re not getting robbed.

Skip this if you already own Star Guardian or Battle Academia. Those skins do everything Striker does and more. But if you’re an Ezreal one-trick building a collection, or you just like the football aesthetic for spamming in normals, Striker Ezreal earns its spot. Not the flashiest pick for climbing in Diamond but sometimes you dont need flashy. Sometimes you just need a clean jersey and good positioning in the backline.

Might be overthinking it but there’s something charming about these old Legacy skins. They remind you League wasnt always about prestige editions and mythic essence grinds. Worth 520 RP if you main Ezreal and catch it on rotation. Simple skin, no complaints.
