Spirit Blossom Teemo

First time I saw Spirit Blossom Teemo load into my game I genuinely thought someone was trolling with a custom skin. The little guy looks completely transformed. Not gonna lie, I had zero interest in Teemo skins before this one dropped in July 2020, but something about the Spirit Blossom aesthetic just clicked with the yordle. Been running this as my default Teemo skin since season 11 and I dont see that changing anytime soon.

What Spirit Blossom actually changes on Teemo

So this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, and for that price you get new VFX across the board plus a custom recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no new VO. The model itself turns Teemo into this spirit fox creature with flowing pink and purple tones, sakura petals drifting off him as he moves. Looks clean in lane.

The Q is where it gets interesting. Blinding Dart fires out as this burst of spirit energy, pinkish-purple with petal trails. Feels snappier than base even though the timing is identical. Could be wrong here but the particle density on the projectile makes it look faster visually. His W leaves a faint trail of blossoms when you activate it, subtle but noticeable if you’re paying attention during a gank escape.

Mushrooms though. The R shrooms are the real selling point. They transform into these little spirit lanterns sitting on the Rift, and when they pop there’s this gorgeous explosion of petals and spiritual energy. I’ve had teammates in Diamond ping question marks on my shrooms because they thought they were a different ability entirely. Last season around 3 AM I was placing shrooms in river and my duo asked if I was playing a different champion. Thats how different they look.

The E passive poison particles get the spirit treatment too. Each auto applies this wispy ethereal effect on the target. Playing against a Teemo with this skin feels more oppressive somehow, like the poison visual reads heavier than base. The recall animation has Teemo meditating with spirit petals swirling around him before ascending. Short and sweet. No new dance or emotes but the recall alone justifies the upgrade from default.

The Spirit Blossom line and where Teemo fits

Spirit Blossom launched July 22, 2020 as one of Riot’s bigger thematic events. The skinline pulled from Ionian spirit mythology and honestly it’s one of their best executed theme sets. Teemo fits naturally here because of the yordle connection to nature spirits in the lore. Jem Flores nailed the splash art, the composition with Teemo sitting among the spirit blossoms with that mischievous expression captures the champion perfectly.

The Spirit Blossom roster from that initial wave was stacked. Thresh, Vayne, Yasuo, Lillia, Ahri, Kindred, Riven, Cassiopeia. Heavy hitters. Teemo was the wildcard pick and I think he ended up being one of the better executions in the set. (Random aside: the splash is still my phone lock screen, been meaning to change it for like two years now.)

No chromas available for this one. Zero. Which is a shame because I’d pay good RP for a darker variant with black petals instead of pink. Maybe Riot will circle back to it eventually but as of now you get the base Spirit Blossom colorway and nothing else.

Should you spend 1350 RP on Spirit Blossom Teemo

Real verdict: if you play Teemo with any regularity this is a must-own. Played maybe 200 games with it across ranked and normals and the skin just feels right. The VFX are clean without being distracting, the shroom visuals are S-tier, and the model redesign is significant enough that it feels like a different champion experience.

For context I own every Teemo skin. Little Devil is the closest competitor and it’s a solid skin but the VFX on Spirit Blossom are sharper. Omega Squad has the military fantasy going for it but feels dated now. Beemo is cute but the novelty wears off. Spirit Blossom hits this sweet spot where it’s visually impressive without being over the top. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get.

Might be overthinking it but I think this skin actually helps in lane. The shroom visuals blend slightly better with certain terrain compared to base, especially around dragon pit bushes. Noticed that in my Diamond games this season, enemies walking into spirit lantern shrooms more often than the standard mushroom model. Could be coincidence. Probably is. Still in the shop permanently so no rush, but if you main Teemo or even have him as a pocket pick for top lane counterpicks, Spirit Blossom Teemo is the one to own. Top pick for Teemo mains, no question.
