First time I saw Porcelain Kindred load into a ranked game I thought it was a custom skin someone modded in. The white and blue ceramic look on Lamb hits so differently from anything else in Kindred’s catalog. Been running this as my main Kindred skin since it dropped in January 2022, and honestly not gonna lie, it hasnt left my rotation once. Clean design, clean VFX, clean everything.

What the Porcelain theme actually does to Kindred

Lamb gets this full porcelain doll treatment with flowing white and gold accents. Wolf transforms into this gorgeous blue spirit creature that feels like it jumped out of a Chinese ceramics exhibit. The whole duo reads as a matched set for once, which is something not every Kindred skin nails.

The VFX overhaul carries this skin hard. Q dash leaves these swirling blue-white particles behind, and W’s hunting ground has this porcelain tile pattern on the edges that I think looks better in motion than in screenshots. E mark proc pops with a satisfying ceramic shatter effect. Not sure if it’s just me but the auto attacks feel crisper with this skin on. Could be placebo. Probably is. Still feels real in my Diamond games at 1 AM on a Tuesday.

Recall animation is where Riot put the extra love. Lamb and Wolf do this traditional dance sequence that fits the Porcelain theme perfectly. Voice lines stay base, no new VO, but the sound effects on abilities have that delicate chime quality that matches the aesthetic. Simple change – huge impact on how the champion feels to pilot in lane and during teamfights.

(Random aside: my duo partner who mains ADC refuses to play with me when I use this skin because “the blue VFX distract him from cs-ing.” Sure buddy, thats why you’re hardstuck.)

The Porcelain line and where Kindred fits

Porcelain dropped January 26, 2022. Late season 12 Lunar New Year event if I remember right. David Villegas and West Studio handled the artwork, and they cooked on this one. The splash captures that delicate balance between elegance and the inherent creepiness of Kindred’s death theme.

The Porcelain skinline is one of Riot’s better thematic sets. Kindred fits naturally into it because Lamb and Wolf already have that mythical spirit energy. Porcelain Lux and Porcelain Ezreal got more hype at release, but Kindred quietly ended up being the best executed of the set. Been saying this since patch day and I stand by it.

9 chromas total if you want variety. Obsidian turns the whole thing dark and moody which honestly looks sick for jungle clear when you’re ganking out of fog. Golden Tiger is the event exclusive and reads really well against the Rift’s green. Tanzanite pushes into a deep purple that hits different for the edgier Kindred mains. Skip the rest unless you’re collecting.

Should you lock in Porcelain Kindred?

Real verdict: at 1350 RP this is maybe the strongest Epic tier skin Kindred has. Spirit Blossom Kindred gets all the attention and yeah it deserves it, but Porcelain offers something completely different. More refined. Less flashy but more cohesive.

If you’re a Kindred one-trick this is an easy buy. Spammed this in Diamond for three months straight last season and never got tired of looking at it. The VFX are distinct enough that your team can read your abilities in a teamfight, Wolf’s new model doesnt blend into dark map areas like some skins do, and the recall is genuinely fun to watch. Still in the shop, grab it whenever.

Could be wrong here but I think Porcelain Kindred is underrated in the broader community. Seen maybe 5 of these in my games all season which is wild for how good it looks. Most Kindred players default to Spirit Blossom or Super Galaxy. Fair enough. But 1350 RP feels more than fair for what you get here, especially if you main Kindred and want something that stands out in the backline during late-game fights. Worth it for mains, skip if you already own Spirit Blossom and only play Kindred occasionally.
