First game I loaded into with Porcelain Graves, my duo asked if I was playing a different champion. Thats how different this skin reads in lane. The whole color palette shifts Graves from his usual gritty outlaw energy into something way more refined, like he walked out of an ancient ceramic painting and decided to start blasting people in bot lane. Not sure if it’s just me but the skin feels smoother to play too, even though I know the animations are technically the same speed.

What Porcelain Graves actually changes

New VFX across the board. The Q detonation has this porcelain-blue shatter effect that reads clean against the Rift, especially in river fights where the default Graves particles get lost in the terrain. W smoke screen picks up the Porcelain theme too, pale whites and soft blues instead of the muddy gray cloud you’re used to.

E dash leaves a brief trail of ceramic fragments. Small detail but it looks sharp when you’re kiting back from a gank or repositioning in a teamfight. R is where the VFX budget went, the collateral damage shell explodes into porcelain shards that fan out behind the target. Been running this in Diamond for maybe 40 games now and the ult still catches my eye every time.

The recall animation is new. Graves sits down and does this whole tea ceremony thing, which is a nice touch for the Porcelain line. Voice lines stay base, no changes there. Standard for an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP. (Random aside: the recall animation timer is tight enough that I’ve accidentally cancelled it panic-clicking more than once.)

The Porcelain line and release context

Porcelain Graves dropped February 22, 2024. Season 14, right after the map changes settled in. Santiago Parra and West Studio handled the artwork, and they captured something interesting. The splash has Graves mid-stride with his shotgun trailing porcelain energy, the composition feels dynamic without being cluttered.

The Porcelain skinline is one of Riot’s stronger thematic sets. Porcelain Kindred and Porcelain Lux already proved the concept works, and Graves fits better than you’d expect. The rugged shotgun guy in delicate ceramic armor sounds weird on paper but the execution lands.

9 chromas total. Obsidian turns the whole thing dark and moody, which honestly reads better in most comps where you want to blend with the backline rather than glow. Tanzanite goes deep purple and hits a completely different fantasy. Could be wrong here but I think Opulent might be the sleeper pick, the teal and red contrast pops hard in game even if it looks strange in the preview. Shop has it permanently, 1350 RP, grab whenever.

Should you pick up Porcelain Graves?

Real verdict: if you main Graves jungle or play him ADC, this is a strong pickup. The VFX clarity on Q and R genuinely helps you track your damage zones in chaotic teamfights. I played a game last Friday where I landed a blind R through dragon pit and the porcelain shatter effect made it obvious the shell connected before the kill feed even updated.

Competition is stiff though. Pool Party Graves exists. Battle Professor exists. Sentinel Graves has the whole event skin appeal. Porcelain Graves sits comfortably in the top three for me. The aesthetic is unique enough that you wont mistake it for any other Graves skin in champ select.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX, new recall, clean chromas, strong splash. No new VO holds it back from being perfect, but for an Epic skin the package delivers. Might be overthinking it but the Porcelain line carries a certain prestige that other skinlines dont, and Graves wearing it well matters. Top pick for Graves mains who want something that stands out without being over the top. Been daily driving this over everything else in my Graves rotation since it dropped and I keep coming back to it even when I tell myself to try something else. Worth the lock-in.
