Music Fan Gragas

First game I locked in Music Fan Gragas was a late night ranked session, maybe 1 AM on a Thursday. Loaded into the Rift and my support immediately typed “bro what is that skin” in chat. Honestly not gonna lie, I had the same reaction when I first saw it on PBE. Gragas decked out in full concert merch holding what looks like a foam finger and a drink, belly out, living his best life. The energy is infectious. This is Gragas at peak form and I dont mean his combo rotation.

What the Superfans treatment does to Gragas

So this is an Epic tier skin at 1350 RP, meaning you get new VFX and a new recall animation. Voice lines stay base, no new VO. The recall is the highlight for me. Gragas just vibing out, cheering, the whole crowd energy thing. It fits the fantasy perfectly.

The Q barrel roll now has this colorful concert energy to it. Think confetti particles mixed with stage lighting effects. Not subtle, but not over the top either. Good middle ground. His W self-buff has a nice glow that reads well in teamfights without being distracting, which matters when you’re trying to land a flash E onto the backline.

E body slam carries the same concert-themed VFX. The impact particles pop with bright colors. His R explosive cask is where it really shines though. Big burst of concert effects on detonation. Been running this in Diamond for a few weeks now and the ult VFX actually helped me track the knockback direction better than some of his other skins. Could be wrong here but I think the visual clarity is slightly improved.

The model itself is great. Gragas in a band tee, headband, the whole superfan getup. His barrel is replaced with what looks like a merch cooler or something similar. The color palette is warm, lots of oranges and reds. Feels like a tailgate party before a concert. (Random aside: I set the splash as my Discord avatar for a week and three people asked if it was fan art.)

Superfans line and the details

Music Fan Gragas dropped October 9, 2024. Late into season 14. Pandart Studio nailed the splash, the composition captures that “guy having the time of his life at a show” energy. Part of the Superfans skinline alongside a few other champions who got the concert treatment.

The Superfans theme is one of those lighter Riot concepts that just works. Not every skin needs to be cosmic horror or ancient mythology. Sometimes you want your jungler to look like he’s moshing at a festival. Gragas fits this naturally, maybe better than any other champion could.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to because the dark tones make the VFX contrast harder against the model. Sapphire gives him a blue jersey look thats clean for a sports fan vibe. Rose Quartz is surprisingly good, the pink reads as ironic on Gragas which makes it funnier. Rest are solid but those three carry the set. Shop has it, permanent availability, so no rush.

Should you pick this up for 1350 RP?

Real verdict: Gragas has a deep skin catalog. Oktoberfest is iconic. Space Groove is flashy. High Noon slaps. Where does Music Fan fit? Somewhere in the upper half. It’s not trying to be his best skin ever, it’s trying to be fun, and it succeeds at that.

1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX on all abilities, solid recall, strong model work, and 8 chromas if you want variety. If you play Gragas in jungle or mid and you want something that doesnt take itself seriously, this is the pick. Been daily driving it in my Diamond games since patch day and I keep coming back to it over his other options.

Not sure if it’s just me but the skin feels lighter to play. Like the animations have a bouncier quality. Probably placebo, season 14 me is just coping, but the vibe translates into gameplay somehow. Played maybe 30 games with it across two weeks and my winrate stayed steady. Skip this if you already own Space Groove and want something more premium feeling. But for Gragas mains who want the full collection, Music Fan earns its spot. Fair price for the package.
