Fnatic Gragas

First time I saw Fnatic Gragas load into a game I thought somebody was trolling with a custom skin. Big orange jersey on the biggest dude in League. Took me a second to realize this was an actual Riot release honoring Fnatic’s Season 1 Worlds win. Not gonna lie, theres something charming about Gragas repping esports merch while body slamming people into towers.

The Fnatic treatment on Gragas

So what do you actually get for 750 RP? Gragas swaps his usual outfit for the black and orange Fnatic jersey. The barrel gets a Fnatic logo slapped on it. Clean touch. The VFX have slight orange tinting on his abilities which I think makes the Q barrel roll read differently on the Rift. Not a massive overhaul but you notice it in lane when you’re trading with someone.

Voice lines stay base. No new recall animation either. Standard voice, no new lines. For a Standard tier skin released back in 2014 that tracks. Riot wasnt doing custom recalls on team skins at this price point. The splash shows Gragas mid-celebration holding his barrel like a trophy, Fnatic branding front and center. Decent composition for what it is.

Been running this in my Diamond games occasionally when I feel like flexing old school League knowledge. Most people in lobby dont even know what Fnatic Gragas is. Had a jungler ask me last Wednesday if it was a limited edition or something. Kinda feels like wearing a vintage band tee that only real fans recognize.

World Champions 2011 and Legacy status

Fnatic Gragas dropped September 24, 2014 as part of the World Champions: 2011 skinline. Yeah, the math is weird. Fnatic won Worlds in Season 1 (2011) but the commemorative skins didnt come out until three years later. Riot was still figuring out the whole esports skins pipeline back then. The full Fnatic set covered Gragas, Janna, Corki, Jarvan IV, and Karthus if I remember right.

This one sits in the Legacy vault now. Vault rotation skin. You might catch it during Worlds events or special shop appearances but you cant just walk into the store and buy it any random Tuesday. (Random aside: I have a theory Riot keeps these vaulted specifically so the esports skins feel more exclusive than they actually are.) Could be wrong here but I think the last time these popped up was around Worlds 2023 or maybe 2022, season 12 or 13 dont remember exactly.

Should you grab Fnatic Gragas from the vault?

Real verdict: 750 RP feels fair for what you get. It’s a team skin with some personality. Not the flashiest Gragas option by a long shot. If you want raw visual impact, Oktoberfest or Space Groove Gragas blow this out of the water. But those arent Legacy. Those dont carry the weight of League esports history.

I played maybe 15 games with this skin last month during a Gragas jungle phase and honestly the orange VFX on barrel roll grew on me. The E body slam with that jersey flapping around in teamfights has this goofy energy that fits Gragas perfectly. Spammed it through a weekend of ranked and the skin just works for the champion fantasy. Big guy, big barrel, big personality.

Skip this if you only care about visual upgrades. Worth it if you’re a Gragas main who appreciates the esports heritage or if you just want something rare in your collection. 750 RP well spent for mains who like repping old competitive League. Not the best Gragas skin full stop but it carries a vibe no other Gragas skin touches. Lock it in next time the vault opens.
