Esports Fan Trundle

First game I loaded this skin into, my duo asked me if Trundle was cosplaying a Worlds attendee. Honestly not gonna lie, that’s basically the concept. Esports Fan Trundle turns the Troll King into the most enthusiastic fan in the stands, foam finger and all, and I think it works way better than it has any right to. Been running this in Diamond since it dropped in October and the reactions in lobby are always funny.

What the Superfans treatment does to Trundle

The model rework here is solid for an Epic. Trundle’s wearing a jersey, got face paint, and his club is replaced with one of those giant foam hands you see at sporting events. Massive. The Q slam with that foam finger connecting feels absurd in the best way, like you’re bonking someone with merch from the Riot Games shop.

VFX got a full pass. His W drops what looks like a stadium light circle on the ground, bright and loud compared to base Trundle’s ice patch. The E pillar rising up has this energy burst that reads cleanly in teamfights, which matters more than people realize. Last Thursday I trapped a Katarina trying to shunpo out of dragon pit and the pillar VFX made it obvious to my whole team where the zone was. Small thing but it helps with peel coordination.

Recall animation is the highlight. Trundle sits down, pulls out a foam finger, waves it around like hes watching a pentakill live. Pure fan energy. No new voice lines though, voice stays default. Could be wrong here but I think new VO would have pushed this from good to great. The base Trundle lines about being king dont exactly match the superfan vibe. Still, the visual package carries.

R is where it gets interesting in actual gameplay. The drain VFX has this bright sporty color palette that makes it pop against the Rift’s darker tones. Pre-6 laning you mostly notice the Q and W changes, but once you hit ult in a dive comp the skin really shows off.

The Superfans line and release context

Esports Fan Trundle dropped October 9, 2024. Late into the Worlds season, which makes sense for the theme. Pandart Studio handled the artwork and they captured the energy of an actual esports crowd perfectly. The splash has Trundle mid-cheer with confetti everywhere.

The Superfans skinline is one of Riot’s more niche concepts. Not every champion fits it, but Trundle’s personality as this loud, brash troll king translates naturally into superfan territory. Kinda feels like Riot picked champions where the humor would land instead of forcing it on popular picks.

8 chromas total. Obsidian is my go-to because the dark jersey with the foam finger contrast looks clean in game. Sapphire hits that classic esports blue team fantasy harder than base. Pearl exists if you want the clean white kit look but personally I think it washes out Trundle’s skin tone. The rest are fine, standard chroma fare. (Random aside: I keep the Obsidian chroma on permanently because it matches my ranked anxiety aesthetic.)

Is Esports Fan Trundle worth 1350 RP?

Real verdict: for Trundle mains this is an easy lock-in. 1350 RP feels fair for what you get. New VFX, new recall, a genuinely funny concept that doesnt get old after 50 games. I’ve played maybe 80 ranked games with Esports Fan Trundle this season and I still crack up at the recall.

The competition in Trundle’s skin pool is thin. Dragonslayer is solid, Fright Night has the spooky factor, but nothing else in his catalog has this much personality. If you’re climbing with Trundle in jungle or splitpush top lane, this skin keeps the vibe light even when your ADC is running it down. Shop has it, permanent availability, no vault nonsense.

Skip it if you dont play Trundle. Obviously. But for anyone who mains him or even has him in rotation for jungle flex picks, Esports Fan is arguably the best Trundle skin. The Superfans concept landed here. Not every novelty skin ages well but three seasons from now I think people will still be spamming this one. Worth the RP, especially if you grab Obsidian or Sapphire chroma on top.
